On 7 Dec 09 a security officer at Globe Specialty
Metals, 1595 Sparling Road, Waterford, reported observing two
suspicious males lurking about the business’ property
in the area scrap metal storage containers. This investigation
is ongoing, with Deputy Sheriff Holbert attempting to locate
the registered owner of a possible suspect vehicle found near
the scene.
On 7 Dec 09 John Almond, age 55, 110 West
Chester Drive, Marietta, reported he believes a couple who
was hired to clean his home between 1 and 5 Dec may have stolen
a Craftsman wrench and socket set from a bedroom closet. This
case remains under investigation (707).
On 7 Dec 09 Casey Jones, age 59, 212 Cabot
Lane, Satsuna, FL, reported in 2004 he sold property at 9008
State Route 555, Cutler to an individual under a land contract
that included a mobile home. Mr. Jones said he stipulated that
the buyer must transfer the mobile home title to his name but
the buyer has yet to do so and that he recently received a
bill for owing back taxes on the mobile home. This case remains
under investigation (208).
On 7 Dec 09 Ronald Morris, age 66, 88 Pam
Road, New Matamoras, reported when he returned home after staying
with his daughter for two days he discover a forty inch television,
two Honda generators, six hunting knives a six guns were missing
from various locations in his house. This case remains under
investigation (208).
On 7 Dec 09 Deputy Sheriff Caltrider requested
a summons for Kevin A. Williams, age 21, 712 Fourth Street,
New Matamoras, for disorderly conduct. Mr. Williams was involved
in a dispute over property with neighbors on Fourth Street
in New Matamoras on 5 Dec, during which time Mr. Williams pounded
on the home’s door and shouted obscenities. Mr. Williams
later discovered a stereo belonging to him broken into pieces
on the sidewalk near the neighbor’s residence and shouted
at the home as he photographed the broken property. As a result
of the incident, Deputy Caltrider also requested a summons
for a fifteen year old resident of the nearby home to appear
in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by criminal damaging.
When questioned about how the stereo got broken, the teenager
replied that he tossed it out the door.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Nicky Lee Lamp, age 36, 909 Phillips Street,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Lamp was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 09 at
8:57 am.
Jeffrey Allen Bane, age 24, 816 ½ Leonard
Avenue, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a
misdemeanor. Bane was arrested at the office of Probation Officer
Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7
Dec 09 at 10:39 am.
Larry Gale Newbrough III, age 19, 4700 Dalzell Road, Whipple,
for menacing, a misdemeanor. Newbrough was arrested at the
office of Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 09 at 10:54 am.
Gary Lee Losey II, age 27, 104 Riley Drive Apt. 5, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Losey
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 09 at 12:20
pm.
Brandon Lee Baumgardner, age 28, 3809 Crane Avenue, Huntington,
WV, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Baumgardner was arrested near milepost eight
on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 09 at 3:39 pm.
Jessica Lynn Stevens, age 28, 735 Eighth Street, Marietta,
for theft and for criminal trespassing, both misdemeanors.
Stevens was arrested at Wal-Mart by Patrolman
Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 09 at 5:20 pm.
