On 8 Nov 09 Corrections Officers were processing
Annie R. Burks, age 53, 224 Newport Street, Detroit, MI, into
the Washington County Jail when they observed a suspicious
item. Ms. Burks removed the suspicious item from a body cavity
and Corrections Officers noticed the item Ms. Burks had concealed
appeared to be a condom containing individual cellophane bags
of cocaine. Taking possession of the contraband, Deputy Sheriff
Sheaves determined the substance was in fact cocaine and that
the cocaine had a total mass of 17.85 grams. In consequence,
Deputy Sheaves charged Ms. Burks with a felony offense of illegally
conveying items into a detention facility.
On 8 Nov 09 Kenneth Chidester, age 62, 406
Seventh Street, Williamstown, reported is caretaker for an
estate at 470 Cornerville Road, Marietta, and sometime during
the past seven days an unknown suspect entered the residence
and stole a thirty-two inch flat panel television, a small
regular television and two safes. This case remains under investigation
(296).
On 8 Nov 09 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck issued
a minor misdemeanor citation to Daniel L. Bookman, age 26,
1533 Mayport Road, Atlantic Beach, FL, for disorderly conduct.
During an argument with his girlfriend Jean M. Schreiber, age
24, at her residence at 253 Lake Road, Belpre, Mr. Bookman
shoved Ms. Schreiber. Ms. Schreiber lost her balance and to
fell to the ground but said she didn’t think Mr. Bookman
intentionally harmed her nor did she fear for her safety.
On 8 Nov 09 Sgt. Thorpe was on patrol in the
vicinity of State Route 555 and Barton Lane in Bartlett when
he noticed a bag of trash along the roadway. Unable to locate
any identifying information, Sgt. Thorpe arrange for Wesley
Township workers to dispose of the refuse.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Angela Jane Felton, age 38, 818 Second Street, Marietta, for
OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Felton
was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 8 Nov 09 at 1:30 am.
Annie Ruth Burks, age 53, 224 Newport Street, Detroit, MI,
for felony charges of possession of drugs and illegal conveyance
of items into a detention facility and for misdemeanor charges
of OVI and driving outside the marked lanes of travel. Burks
was arrested on Interstate 77 in Lower Salem by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 8 Nov 09 at 7:43 am.
Ralph David Shade, age 58, 7501 Jefferson Avenue Apt. 705,
Detroit, MI, for tampering with drugs and for having a weapon
while under disability, both felonies. Shade was arrested on
Interstate 77 in Lower Salem by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Nov 09 at
10:47 am.
