On 1 Nov 09 the Little Hocking Fire Department
transported an eighteen year old School House Road resident
to Camden Clark Hospital for treatment to a superficial wound
and for mental evaluation. The victim informed Deputy Sheriff
Smeeks that he stopped taking his medication because he didn’t
think he needed it anymore and sometime thereafter he stabbed
himself in the left leg for no apparent reason.
On 1 Nov 09 a security guard at Milton Timber
Company, 1708 Back Road, Macksburg, reported after he observed
a suspicious vehicle he checked the main building on the property
and noticed a door standing ajar. Called to the scene, another
employee took inventory of the office and determined the only
items missing were a desktop computer and its accessories.
This case remains under investigation (594).
On 1 Nov 09 Sgt. Norman arrested Kari D. Luton,
age 34, 213 Elm Street, Marietta, for OVI and failure to register.
Stopped by Sgt. Norman and Deputy Sheriff Caltrider for not
using her headlights at 3 am, Ms. Luton had a strong odor of
alcohol and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. When
transported to the Washington County Jail Ms. Luton tested
.147 BAC.
On 1 Nov 09 Jeffrey B. Headlee, age 51, 395
Main Street, Waterford, reported he confronted the driver of
a white truck for allegedly driving through a neighbor’s
yard and spinning mud and gravel onto his home and vehicle
an hour earlier. The suspect, Larry T. Lang, age 29, 3701 Plum
Run Road, Waterford, scoffed at Mr. Headlee’s accusation
and stated he would give Mr. Headlee five dollars to wash his
car. Witnesses stated after Mr. Lang exited his vehicle the
two began arguing and Mr. Lang slapped Mr. Headlee. Mr. Headlee
returned the slap and the skirmish ended when bystanders intervened.
Based on witness statements, Deputy Sheriff Caltrider requested
a summons for Mr. Lang for disorderly conduct by fighting.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Wayne Landon Ruth, age 23, 116 Bailey Drive, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Ruth was arrested at his
residence by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Nov 09 at 1:20 am.
Matthew Wayne Frame, age 27, 310 Engadine Court SW Apt. A5,
Sugarcreek, OH, for OVI, speeding, possession of drugs and
possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Frame was
arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Nov 09 at 3:10 am.
Kari Danette Luton, age 34, 213 Elm Street, Marietta, for
OVI and failure to register, both misdemeanors. Luton was arrested
on Pike Street in Marietta by Sgt. Norman of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Nov 09 at 3:45 am.
Jason Homer Malone, age 31, 405 Lord Street, Marietta, for
a felony charge of breaking and entering and for misdemeanor
charges of OVI, failure to reinstate his operator’s license,
driving outside the marked lanes of travel, obstructing official
business, failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, failure to appear and falsification. Malone was arrested
in the parking lot of Aldi by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Nov 09 at
5:53 am.
Scott Lee Carpenter, age 47, 413 ½ Third Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Carpenter
was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Gragan of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 1 Nov 09 at 5:09 pm.
