On 25 Oct 09 Tonya Allison, age 41, 1 Maple
Street, Newport, reported being involved in a dispute with
her live-in boyfriend of five years, Randy J. Scott Jr., age
26. Ms. Allison said the two were arguing inside their home
and that she walked outside so Mr. Scott would calm down. Ms.
Allison stated Mr. Scott followed her, grabbed her shirt and
tore it off of her. Fleeing to a neighbor’s home after
that, Ms. Allison commented that Mr. Scott has a temper and
when he gets angry he scares and intimidates her. Corroborating
Ms. Allison’s statements with a witness, Deputy Sheriff
Mankins arrested Mr. Scott for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
AGGRAVATED BURGLARY SUSPECT
ARRESTED
Shortly after 3 am on 25 Oct 09 two migrant
workers who reside in an apartment on Sparling Farm at 4525
Sparling Road, Waterford, reported a male they know only as “Feeley” barged
into their residence brandishing a shotgun and demanded money.
Through an interpreter the two victims said Feeley was acting
crazy when he entered the apartment and that he also unsuccessfully
attempted to rob them with a knife two weeks ago. One of the
victims in this case stated he jumped up from the couch where
he was sleeping and wrestled the shotgun away from Feeley and
a struggle ensued. Suffering minor injuries to his mouth, the
victim said Feeley fled in a black, four door Ford truck.
An unrelated theft investigation led Deputies
to ascertain the suspect the victim’s called Feeley was
in fact Philip A. Martin, age 21, 5380 Johnson Hill Road, Waterford.
Patrolling the area, Lt. Wilson attempted to conduct a traffic
stop on a vehicle matching the description of Mr. Martin’s
truck. A high speed chase followed but ended six minutes later
because of the risk involved and the number of hills and turns
on State Route 676. Mr. Martin was located an hour later at
a relatives home 32 Anderson Road in Waterford and arrested
without further incident. Mr. Martin is currently being held
without bond in the Washington County Jail on a parole violation
and on a second degree felony charge of aggravated burglary.
