On 23 Oct 09 Teresa D. Tilton, age 39, 12622
State Route 60, Lowell, reported during an argument over a
piece of mail the couple received, her husband threw two dining
room chairs out a back door, over their deck and into the backyard.
When questioned, Mr. Tilton admitted throwing the chairs in
anger and claimed his wife struck him with a chair. Mr. Tilton,
who was intoxicated at the time, exhibited no injuries indicative
of being struck with a chair. Interviewed the following morning
after his arrest for violating his probation, Mr. Tilton declined
to pursue charges against his wife and stated she only attempted
to strike him with a piece of a broken chair. Sgt. Rhodes and
Lt. Wilson could find no additional evidence supporting Mrs.
Tilton’s claim of domestic violence.
On 23 Oct 09 Deputy Sheriff Anderson responded
to the scene of death of a seventy-five year old Cutler resident.
The woman’s death appears to be due to natural causes;
no foul play is suspected.
On 23 Oct 09 a witness reported two men exited
a truck at 1665 Hackney Road, Beverly, and kicked open the
front door. The witness stated the two suspects were only in
the home for a couple of minutes and did not appear to be carrying
anything when they departed. A representative from Citizens
Bank in Beverly, the owners of the home, examined the property
and said nothing appeared missing. This case remains under
investigation (610).

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John William Gray Jr., age 48, 8800 State
Route 821, Lower Salem, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Gray was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 23 Oct 09 at 9:20 am.
Nicky Lee Lamp, age 36, 909 Phillips Street, Marietta, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Lamp was
arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Oct 09 at 9:20
am.
William Joseph Carter Sr., age 25, 1101 Cisler Lane, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Carter was picked up at the Noble Correctional
Institution by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
23 Oct 09 at 10:30 am.
Kurt Matthew Lauer, age 49, 42685 Ashton Hill Road, Dexter
City, for a felony charge of failure to appear and for a misdemeanor
charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines. Lauer was picked up at the Noble County Jail by Deputy
Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 23 Oct 09 at 5:05 pm.
Donald James Covey, age 35, Marietta, for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Covey was arrested at his residence by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23
Oct 09 at 6:00 pm.
Serena Charlene Lindsey, age 33, 413 Market Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Lindsey was arrested
at her residence by Patrolman Hickey of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
23 Oct 09 at 6:40 pm.
Mark Joseph Tilton, age 40, 12622 State Route 60, Lowell,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Tilton
was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Rhodes of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 23 Oct 09 at 10:23 pm.
