On 22 Oct 09 Deputy Sheriff Reeder issued
a minor misdemeanor citation to Joshua A. Martin, age 22, 681
State Route 821, Marietta, for being in possession of an open
container of alcohol while in a vehicle. Mr. Martin was a passenger
in a disabled vehicle that Deputy Reeder encountered while
on patrol in the vicinity of the half mile marker on State
Route 821. When he approached the vehicle, Deputy Reeder notice
a thirty pack of Busch Light at Mr. Martin’s feet with
an open can partially concealed in the box.
On 22 Oct 09 Tim Cunningham, age 45, 5285
Buchanan Road, Waterford, reported a neighbor to his property
at 1683 Strahler Road, Waterford, informed him that two unknown
males loaded something from his property into the bed of a
Chevy S-10. Locating the vehicle using a license plate number
written down by the witness, Deputy Sheriff Holbert observed
the two male suspects unloading a seventy-five foot bundle
of aluminum wire that Mr. Cunningham said was missing from
his property. Questioned regarding the bundle of wire, the
suspects admitted taking the item without the owner’s
permission. Deputy Holbert will be requesting summonses for
the two suspects for theft at a later date.
On 22 Oct 09 Jamie Jackson, age 32, 2148 State
Route 339, Belpre, reported her estranged husband has violated
a protection order she has against him several times since
the order was issued on 22 Sep 09. Specifically, Ms. Jackson
said her husband attempts to contact her via third parties,
which is prohibited by the protection order. This case remains
under investigation (308).
On 22 Oct 09 Timothy Murphy, age 46, 239 Barrett-South
Road, Vincent, reported he noticed that afternoon that a Horton
crossbow was missing from a garage on his property. Mr. Murphy
is unsure when the weapon was stolen but he believes it was
at the same time loose change was taken from his vehicle on
21 Aug 09. This case remains under investigation (594).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Betty Ruth Simpson, age 57, 122 Alta Street, Marietta, for
obstructing official business and for being in possession of
an open container of alcohol, both misdemeanors. Simpson was
arrested on Lancaster Street in Marietta by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 22 Oct 09 at 3:49 am.
Anna Denise Jones, age 44, 122 Alta Street, Marietta, for
OVI, driving under a suspended license, criminal mischief and
for making an improper turn, all misdemeanors. Jones was arrested
on Lancaster Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Oct 09
at 4:49 am.
Randy Joe Clevenger, age 22, 2265 Tick Ridge
Road, Lower Salem, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Clevenger was picked up at the Athens County
Jail by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 Oct 09 at 3:49 pm.
Cody Allen Mugrage, age 19, 25 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, for
underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Mugrage was
arrested at the Harmar Tavern by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 22 Oct 09 at 9:33 pm.
