On 17 Oct 09 Deputy Sheriff Reeder requested
a summons for Michelle Moats, age 37, 220 Morris Road, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Though Ms. Moats claimed
she was assaulted, witnesses contradicted her statements, saying
Ms. Moats was highly intoxicated and combative. Ms. Moats did
suffer an injury during the incident when her boyfriend attempted
to wrestle a loaded shotgun from her hands. During the struggle
Ms. Moats fell and suffered a laceration above her eye.
On 17 Oct 09 Guy P. Ash, age 48, 45 Hazelwood
Road, Marietta, reported he heard a crackling noise near his
microwave around 1:15 pm and immediately noticed holes in the
wall of his residence and in the back of the microwave. Examining
the kitchen appliance, Deputy Sheriff Holbert located and extracted
what appeared to be a .22 caliber bullet. The shooting does
not appear to be intentional, however, this case remains under
investigation.
On 17 Oct 09 Dezzarae Taylor, age 21, 11715
State Route 550, Fleming, reported when she returned to her
residence at 1 am after being gone for several hours she found
her home was broken into and her forty-six inch LCD television
was stolen. Ms. Taylor believes an acquaintance stole the television
because she owes him money for a Playstation 3 she purchased
from him. This case remains under investigation (308).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Debra Alberta Hughes, age 51, 9 Brown Avenue, Parkersburg,
for OVI, for failure to comply with the order/signal of an
officer, for obstructing official business, theft, for not
wearing a seat belt, for having an inoperable license plate
light and for traveling outside the marked lanes of travel,
all misdemeanors. Hughes was arrested at the intersection of
Main Street and Washington Boulevard in Belpre by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 17 Oct 09 at 12:55 am.
William Lebern Hughes Jr., age 62, 1 Eighth Street, Belpre,
for OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors.
Hughes was arrested on Main Street in Belpre by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 17 Oct 09 at 1:05 am.
Eric Lee Ranson, age 35, 1511 Royal Oaks Road, Charleston,
WV, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel,
both misdemeanors. Ranson was arrested on State Route 7 by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 17 Oct 09 at 4:00 am.
