On 28 Sep 09 Barbara Davis, age 71, 1717 Whipple
Run Road, Whipple, reported the tailgate was stolen from her
Dodge truck while it was parked at her property at 5375 Caywood
Road, Marietta. Upon further investigation Deputy Sheriff Travaglio
determined Ms. Davis arranged to sell the tailgate to an individual
and the individual took the tailgate prior to paying for it.
When contacted, the suspect returned the tailgate and explained
that he thought it would be acceptable to take the tailgate
and remit payment when he received his paycheck. Once the tailgate
was returned Ms. Davis declined to pursue charges in the matter.
On 28 Sep 09 Jamie Corbett, age 33, 1344 Gilman
Avenue, Marietta, reported when he awoke that morning he discovered
his 1998 Porsche Boxster was missing and a purple mountain
bike was lying on the ground next to where the car was parked.
Further investigation revealed the mountain bike, along with
another bicycle that was recovered nearby, were stolen earlier
from residences on Howard Street in Marietta. In addition,
residents on Howard Drive and Shamrock Drive reported it appears
that an unknown suspect(s) entered their homes and vehicles
during the night. It appears the suspect(s) rifled through
desks and drawers in one home on Shamrock Drive and on Howard
Street and also stole loose change from vehicles parked at
the residences. Mr. Corbett’s vehicle was later recovered
undamaged and abandoned in the North Hills Lanes parking lot.
It is currently impounded and being processed for evidence.
This case remains under investigation (308, 594, 809, 1104,
