On 24 Sep 09 Lt. Gherke responded to the scene
of death of a seventy-three year old Little Hocking resident.
The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes;
no foul play is suspected.
On 24 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio requested
a summons for Mark F. Stevens, age 45, 2385 Bells Run Road,
Newport, for two counts of public indecency. On two occasions
earlier in the day Mr. Stevens allegedly exposed himself to
women driving their vehicles past his residence. One of the
victims said this is not the first time Mr. Stevens has exposed
himself to her and that she tries not to look in his direction
as a result.
On 24 Sep 09 Patty L. Schmidt, age 54, 10015
State Route 260, New Matamoras, reported beginning around the
first of March she believes a family member has stolen a large
sum of money from her bank account. Ms. Schmidt believes the
family member forged a large quantity of checks and also fraudulently
used the debit card on her account. This case remains under
investigation (805).
On 24 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Carol J. Sullivan, age 64, 1185 Mill Branch Road,
Belpre, for operating a vehicle with license plates that expired
in June 2009. Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Sullivan on State
Route 7 near Blue Knob Road in Warren Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robin Jerome Richards, age 22, State Route 550, Barlow, for
breaking and entering, a felony. Richards was arrested on Bethel
Road by Sgt. Thorpe of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24
Sep 09 at 12:46 am.
James Clair Schwendeman, age 25, 934 Franklin Avenue, Salem,
OH, for a felony charge of attempted tampering with evidence
and for misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs, OVI and
driving under an OVI suspended license. Schwendeman was arrested
on Virginia Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 09 at 7:53 am.
John Matthew Heldman, age 31, 2307 Highland
Ridge Road, Lowell, for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Heldman was arrested
on Products Lane by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 09 at 10:18 am.
Gary Lee Mayle Jr., age 32, 912 Dublin Avenue SW, Canton,
for OVI, driving under a suspended license, for driving outside
the marked lanes of travel, for failing to obey the right of
way at a red light and for breach of recognizance, all misdemeanors.
Mayle was picked up in Stark County by Deputy Sheriff Malone
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 09
at 12:41 pm.
Todd Daniel Weddle, age 40, 100 Cisler Lane Apt. C6, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Weddle
was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Hamilton
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 09
at 3:08 pm.
Anthony James Roton, age 22, 406 Dodge Avenue, Williamstown,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Roton
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 09
at 3:28 pm.
Richard Arnaz Carter Jr., age 20, 5353 Rifle Drive Apt. 2C,
Canal Winchester, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Carter was arrested
at the Econo Lodge in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 09 at 4:30
pm.
Ivan Lynn Patterson Jr., age 19, 104 Riley Drive Apt. 6, Marietta,
for being a military deserter, a misdemeanor. Patterson was
arrested at his residence by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 24 Sep 09 at 4:45 pm.
Guy Arthur Wickham, age 26, 306 Colegate Drive, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Wickham was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Sep 09
at 11:32 pm.
