On 19 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Jeffery W. Bradley, age 25, 113 Chateau Hills, Parkersburg,
for driving under an OVI suspended license and for possession
of drugs. Stopped for having an expired license plate, Mr.
Bradley consented to a search of his vehicle. In the vehicle
Deputy Smeeks located three pills in the console that Mr. Bradley
identified as the Schedule IV drug Klonopin. Also, in a pocket
in the passenger side door, Deputy Smeeks discovered an open
can of Bud Light Mr. Bradley’s passenger, Erik D. Tingler,
age 25, 40 Marie Lane, Washington, WV, admitted was his. Consequently,
Deputy Smeeks issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Mr. Tingler
for possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
On 19 Sep 09 Jaime N. Jackson, age 32, 2148
State Route 339, Belpre, reported a family member would not
return her five year old son after she allowed the child to
spend the night at the relative’s home. The parties agreed
to an amicable solution and will pursue a visitation agreement
in court (608).
On 19 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Jeffrey A. Hardesty, age 48, 615 Federal Road, Little Hocking,
for driving under an OVI suspended license. Deputy Smeeks originally
stopped Mr. Hardesty for having an expired license plate on
his trailer at the intersection of State Route 7 and Arrowhead
Road Belpre Township.
On 19 Sep 09 Russell Brooks Sr., age 41, 12786
State Route 676, Waterford, reported his son was using a weed
eater he borrowed from a neighbor over a year ago when the
neighbor approached his son and asked him to return the weed
eater. Mr. Brooks explained to the neighbor that since he borrowed
the item more than a year ago he didn’t feel he had to
return it. At that point the neighbor punched Mr. Brooks’ son,
took the weed eater and returned to his home. Neither Mr. Brooks
nor his son desired to pursue charges in the matter (608).
On 19 Sep 09 Brenda Wilson, age 49, 20 Maple
Street, Newport, reported she was attempting to intervene in
an altercation at 10 Maple Street when she was attacked by
Michelle L. Thompson, age 34, 35 Maple Street Apt. 3, Newport.
Thrown to the ground by her hair, Ms. Wilson was kicked and
punched by Ms. Thompson. Other witnesses were eventually able
to restrain Ms. Thompson and separated the factions until assistance
arrived. Based on his investigation Deputy Sheriff McLeish
arrested Ms. Thompson for assault and transported her to the
Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Derek Dwayne Rockhold, age 20, 2200 Murray Street Apt. A,
Belpre, for OVI and for failure to comply with the order/signal
of an officer, both misdemeanors. Rockhold was arrested near
the intersection of Cave Hill and School House roads by Detective
Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Sep 09 at 12:58
am.
Jeffrey Alan Hardesty, age 48, 615 Federal Road, Little Hocking,
for driving under an OVI suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Hardesty was arrested on State Route 67 in Belpre by Deputy
Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 19 Sep 09 at 1:00 am.
Jay Monice Grayson Jr., age 38, 832 Front Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Grayson was arrested
on Front Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
19 Sep 09 at 3:00 am.

by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Sep 09 at 4:48 pm.
Michelle Lee Thompson, age 34, 35 Maple Street Apt. 3, Newport,
for a felony charge of for violating the terms of her probation
and for a misdemeanor charge of assault. Thompson was arrested
in Newport by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 19 Sep 09 at 8:40 pm.
