On 17 Sep 09 Sgt. Underwood requested a summons
for a fourteen year old Fleming resident to appear in Juvenile
Court on a charge of delinquency by domestic violence. The
previous evening the juvenile’s mother reported her daughter
became combative after an argument concerning her refusal to
go to school. When the teenager’s mother attempted to
restrain her daughter, the girl tightly squeezed and dug her
fingernails into her mother’s arms.
On 17 Sep 09 an employee of Lakeside Golf
Course, 18218 State Route 60, Beverly, reported between 10
and 11 pm the previous evening an unknown suspects entered
the clubhouse by breaking a window. The employee said a cash
register was pried open and a small amount of change was taken
but the currency was secured in a safe. No other property was
missing. This case remains under investigation (296).
On 17 Sep 09 an employee of Dollar General,
185 Third Street, Lowell, reported a customer entered the store
without a pocketbook and departed the story carrying an Ohio
State pocketbook. Questioned about the theft by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins, the suspect provided a plausible but suspicious account
of the item’s origin. This case remains open pending
interviews of additional witnesses.
On 17 Sep 09 the Reno Fire Department transported
a twenty-four year old Forshey Road resident to Marietta Memorial
Hospital following an intentional overdose of prescription
medication. At the hospital the victim received treatment for
overdoses of Xanax and Flexeril and will undergo mental heal
evaluation.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Darla Lynn Tom, age 39, 1936 Tanne Hill Road,
Zanesville, for OVI, for driving under an OVI suspended license
and for speeding, all misdemeanors. Tom was arrested on State
Route 7 in Belpre by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 17 Sep 09 at 5:25 am.
John William Gray Jr., age 48, State Route
821, Lower Salem, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. Gray was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 17 Sep 09 at 10:57 am.
Kelly Jane Farnsworth, age 21, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Farnsworth
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gilchrist and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Sep 09 at 1:26
pm.
Eric Dwayne Hardie, age 30, Marietta, for felonious assault.
Hardie was picked up in Huttonsville, WV by Deputy Sheriff
Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17
Sep 09 at 4:23 pm.
John Shannon Smith, age 20, 412 Florence Street, Belpre, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Smith was arrested at his
residence by Patrolman Jobes of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Sep 09
at 5:20 pm.
James Nemo Lee Croston, age 32, 300 Buckeye Ridge Road, Lowell,
for nonsupport of dependants and for failure to appear, both
misdemeanors. Croston was arrested in Lowell by Patrolman Perry
of the Lowell Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 17 Sep 09 at 6:35 pm.
Aaron Joseph Streight, age 30, Marietta, for domestic violence,
a misdemeanor. Streight was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman
Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 17 Sep 09 at 9:40 pm.
