On 15 Sep 09 Linda Donahue, age 65, 685 Stiers Road, Waterford, reported her son borrowed her vehicle to purchase items at the store at 6:30 pm and as of 9:30 pm he had yet to return. This case remains under investigation (608).

On 15 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Mayle arrested Brandon M. Grandstaff, age 21, 570 Home Avenue, Martinsville, IN, for possession of drug paraphernalia and for two counts of possession of drugs. Stopping Mr. Grandstaff for following another vehicle too closely on Interstate 77, Deputy Smeeks deployed his canine while Deputy Mayle checked the identities of the vehicle’s four occupants. Following a canine indication for the presence of drugs, Deputies Mayle and Smeeks searched the vehicle and discovered a cloth bag containing marijuana, a marijuana pipe, digital scales and fourteen pills of the Schedule III drug Lortab. None of the passengers claimed ownership of the contraband, therefore Mr. Grandstaff as the vehicle’s owner was held responsible for possession of the items.
