On 7 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Day arrested
a thirteen year old Coolville resident for delinquency by domestic
violence. The girl’s mother stated her daughter was upset
that her mother would not allow her to skip school on 1 Sep
and started cussing at her stepfather. Also lunging at her
stepfather, the juvenile had to be restrained by her mother
and slapped and scratched her as she was held. Shortly thereafter
the teenager retrieved a bottle of perfume from her bedroom
and sprayed it in her stepfather’s eyes. The teenager’s
parents commented that the girl would attempt to cause further
harm to her stepfather if she remained in the home.
On 7 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded
to the scene of death of a forty-eight year old Bartlett resident.
The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes;
no foul play is suspected.
On 7 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Patrick S. Johnson, age 24, 29150 Murphy Road, Coolville, for
a felony charge of possession of drugs and for three misdemeanor
counts of possession of drugs. Stopped for speeding on State
Route 618, Mr. Johnson appeared nervous and was breathing heavily.
Prompted to search Mr. Johnson’s vehicle following a
canine indication for the presence of drugs, Deputy Smeeks
discovered marijuana and scheduled prescription drugs Darvocet,
Percocet, Xanax and Flexeril. Mr. Johnson admitted the medications
were not prescribed to him and said he used the bag of human
urine Deputy Smeeks found to pass drug screens at work.
On 7 Sep 09 Detective Staats arrested Garry
L. Bohl, age 44, 111 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for disorderly
conduct by intoxication. Staggering as he walked through the
midway at the fair and emanating an odor of alcohol, Mr. Bohl
slurred his words as he spoke to Detective Staats. Mr. Bohl
became increasingly belligerent as Detective Staats continued
to speak with him and appeared to be a threat to himself as
a result of his inebriety. When transported to the Washington
County Jail Mr. Bohl tested .175 BAC.
On 7 Sep 09 Anthony L. Hanes, age 32, 13550
County Nine Road, New Matamoras, reported he was taking money
for parking while working at the fair when a patron leaving
the parking area spun his truck’s tires as he departed.
Believing the suspect was retaliating against him for an incident
that transpired a week ago, Mr. Hanes said flying debris struck
him in the face. Questioned regarding the incident, Charles
Berga, age 20, 46954 State Route 7, New Matamoras, said the
gravel that struck Mr. Hanes did fly from his tires. Based
on his investigation Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck requested a summons
for Mr. Berga for assault.
On 7 Sep 09 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to
Shoshanna Handschumacher, age 25, 2450 Pleasant Ridge Road,
Marietta, for not stopping at a stop sign. Lt. Wilson stopped
Ms. Handschumacher after she failed to stop before turning
from Montgomery Street onto Second Street in Marietta.
On 7 Sep 09 Gary D. Hardie, age 50, 415 Sandhill
Road, Marietta, reported he awoke the morning of 6 Sep and
discovered scratched from the front to the rear on both sides
of his Toyota Corolla. This case remains under investigation
(953).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jacob John Blazosky, age 28, 820 Ferncliff
Drive, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid
fines and for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors.
Blazosky was picked up at the Athens County line by Lt. Canavan
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 7 Sep 09 at 9:56 am.
Patrick Scott Johnson, age 24, 29150 Murphy Road, Coolville,
for a felony charge of possession of drugs and for three misdemeanor
counts of possession of drugs. Johnson was arrested on State
Route 618 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 Sep 09 at 12:42 pm.
Garry Lee Bohl, age 44, 111 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Bohl was
arrested at the fairgrounds by Detective Staats of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 Sep 09 at 7:14 pm.
Matthew Vernon Scott, age 23, 221 Sheldon Avenue, Marietta,
for operating a vehicle without a license and for speeding,
both misdemeanors. Scott was arrested on Lowell Hill Road by
Patrolman Perry of the Lowell Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 7 Sep 09 at 7:22 pm.
Michael Carmett Ayers, age 48, 903 Lanore Street, Parkersburg,
for OVI, for driving under an OVI suspended license, for failure
to signal and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, all misdemeanors. Ayers was arrested in Belpre
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 7 Sep 09 at 10:55 pm.
