On 6 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested
a summons for Rebecca L. Sergent, age 19, 1320 Caywood Road,
Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol. Investigating
another matter at Heiss Hollow on 2 Aug 09, Deputy Mankins
noticed an odor of alcohol about Ms. Sergent and also a fifteen
year old Lowell resident. When questioned, both females admitted
consuming several beers that evening. The teenager was summonsed
by Deputy Mankins to appear in Juvenile Court for delinquency
by underage consumption of alcohol.
On 6 Sep 09 a thirty-four year old Lowell
resident reported fourteen year old daughter was shoved, had
her glasses broken and had her hair pulled by an acquaintance
while she was at the fair. The victim declined to pursue charges,
saying she wanted to document the incident to report her assailant
as a bully to her high school administrators (608).
On 6 Sep 09 Ruth M. Waggoner, age 43, 18173
State Route 550, Vincent, was transported to Marietta Memorial
Hospital by her husband to receive treatment for a self-inflicted
cut to her left forearm. Receiving treatment for the laceration,
Mrs. Waggoner will undergo further evaluations prior to her
release.
On 6 Sep 09 Nicole J. Wenzel, age 23, 140
Second Street Apt. 3, Marietta, reported she was at
the fair when she encountered her five year old daughter and
the girl’s father, Aaron J. Streight, age 30, 510 Forshey
Road Apt. B, Marietta. Ms. Wenzel said Mr. Streight became
upset that their daughter wanted to ride a ride with her and
removed brass knuckles from his pocket. Placing the weapon
on his hand, Mr. Streight threatened to strike Ms. Wenzel.
Interviewed by Deputy Sheriff Mankins, Mr. Streight was found
in possession of the brass knuckles described by Ms. Wenzel.
Based on his investigation Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Streight
for domestic violence and carrying a concealed weapon and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 6 Sep 09 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to
James M. Lyons, 1335 Spring Street, Parkersburg, for not stopping
at a red light. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Lyons after he failed
to stop at a red light while traveling westbound on US 50 at
the intersection of Farson Street in Belpre Township.
On 6 Sep 09 Jill McCarty, age 41, 945 Dodd
Run Road, Marietta, reported her husband John, age 34, threatened
her twice and she was in fear for her safety. In his second
statement Mr. McCarty said to his wife that he “ought
to put a bullet in her head.” Mrs. McCarty stated her
husband was impaired after he took some of her medication and
that caused her to fear for her safety. As a result, Lt. Gherke
arrested Mr. McCarty for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shawn Lee Wittekind, age 33, 763 Lindell Road, Marietta, for
OVI, a misdemeanor. Wittekind was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Sep 09 at
12:01 am.
Aaron Lee Dunn, age 33, 836 Pike Street Apt. 15, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Dunn
was arrested in Reno by Lt. Stackpole of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 Sep 09 at 12:02 am.
Michael Gail Porter, age 47, 391520 Union Avenue, Pomeroy,
for nonsupport of dependants, a felony. Porter was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
6 Sep 09 at 12:55 am.
Amy Renee Whittekind, age 29, 763 Glendale Road, Marietta,
for assault, a misdemeanor. Whittekind was arrested at her
residence by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
6 Sep 09 at 1:30 am.
Ryan Christopher Duff, age 32, 112 Lee Street, Belpre, for
driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Duff was
arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 6 Sep 09 at 10:19 am.
David Terry Wood Jr., age 30, 1333 Ruby Street, Moundsville,
OH, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Wood was arrested
on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 6 Sep 09 at 11:56 am.
John Fredrick McCarty, age 34, 945 Dodd Run Road, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. McCarty was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 6 Sep 09 at 4:23 pm.
Aaron Joseph Streight, age 30, 510 Forshey Road Apt. B, Marietta,
for domestic violence and for carrying a concealed weapon,
both misdemeanors. Streight was arrested at the fairgrounds
by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 6 Sep 09 at 8:26 pm.
