On 4 Sep 09 the owner of Tompkins Logging,
6705 McMannis Road, Beverly, reported sometime during the past
twenty-four hours an unknown suspect(s) stole four chain binders
and two log chains from a jobsite on Norris Cemetery Road in
Bartlett. This case remains under investigation (712).
On 4 Sep 09 an employee of Dominion East Ohio
Gas, 211 Mitchell’s Lane, Marietta, reported a resident
on Briggs Hill Road appears to have tapped illegally into a
line owned by the company and ran a line to the residence.

On 4 Sep 09 Lt. Gherke responded to a report
that an intoxicated driver struck a gas pump at Par Mar at
66 Arrowhead Road in Little Hocking and was traveling westbound
on US 50. Locating the vehicle, Lt. Gherke attempted to conduct
a traffic stop but the driver, later identified as Lonnie M.
Starcher, age 41, 122 Main Street Apt. A, Coolville, refused
to do so. Finally stopping outside his residence, Mr. Starcher
refused to stop walking in the direction of his apartment.
Mr. Starcher was detained after a brief struggle during which
Lt. Gherke deployed his Taser three times. In all, Lt. Gherke
charged Mr. Starcher with OVI, failing to reinstate his operator’s
license, hit-skip and failure to comply with the order/signal
of an officer. When transported to the Washington County Jail
Mr. Starcher refused a BAC test.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Christopher Michael Johnson, age 24, 885-1
Club House Road, Virginia Beach, VA, for operating a vehicle
without a license, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested at the
intersection of Pike and Acme streets by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Sep
09 at 3:40 am.
Lonnie Merle Starcher, age 41, 122 Main Street
Apt. A, Coolville, for OVI, for failing to reinstate his operator’s
license, for hit-skip and for failure to comply with the order/signal
of an officer, all misdemeanors. Starcher was arrested in Little
Hocking by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Sep
09 at 11:45 am.
Karl Frank Faulhaber, age 35, 3818 Summit Park, Cleveland
Heights, OH, for driving under an OVI suspended license and
for speeding, both misdemeanors. Faulhaber was arrested on
Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 4 Sep 09 at 4:39 pm.
