On 1 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Mayle requested summonses for Anthony B. Martin, age 23, 700 Greenhill Road, Marietta, for three counts of criminal damaging and for Joshua A. Martin, age 21, 681 State Route 821, Marietta, for complicity in committing criminal damaging. Deputy Mayle’s affidavit alleges that Joshua Martin drove his mother’s vehicle to Warren High School, the Barlow Car Wash and the Barlow Township building where Anthony Martin broke windows and damaged items. The identification of the suspects in this case would have been difficult without the assistance of WTAP. WTAP offered their services in enhancing video footage obtained by Deputy Mayle.

On 1 Sep 09 James A. Henes, age 33, 112 Knox Street Apt. 24, Marietta, reported he was assaulted by an unknown assailant at a campground somewhere on State Route 26. Mr. Henes said he was drinking at the Four Seasons with his girlfriend when a male and a female approached them and asked if they wanted to party at their campsite. Uncertain of the chain of events, Mr. Henes stated he was struck in the face and kicked shortly after arriving at the campsite. Mr. Henes believes his assailant threw him over the rail of a bridge and into a creek where he hid for approximately four hours. Fearing for his life, Mr. Henes said he gained enough strength to walk to a residence half a mile away. Transported from there to Marietta Memorial Hospital, Mr. Henes suffered two black eyes and a separated shoulder. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 1 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued minor misdemeanor citations to William E. Lungreen, age 60, and Michael E. Ralph, age 68, both of 100 Greene Street, Newport, for disorderly conduct. Arguing over personal property, Mr. Ralph bumped Mr. Williams with his chest in an attempt to instigate a fight. The two then traded verbal barbs and threats but did not physically assault each other.

On 1 Sep 09 Sue Bellville, age 53, 122 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 25, Marietta, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a pill bottle containing her recently filled prescription of Vicodin. This case remains under investigation (1097).

On 1 Sep 09 Sherri Scarbro, age 45, 3536 Big Run Road, Cutler, reported sometime between 8 pm on 29 Aug and 6 pm on 31 Aug an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole three televisions, four kitchen chairs, two DirecTV receivers and a jewelry box. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 1 Sep 09 a twenty-one year old Marietta resident reported an unknown male subject phoned her shortly after midnight called her vulgar names and made obscene comments. This case remains under investigation (805).

On 1 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio responded to the scene of death of a fifty-two year old Stockport resident. The man appears to have succumbed to lengthy illnesses.

On 1 Sep 09 Deputy Sheriff Sheaves arrested Nicholas M. Hanner, age 19, 117 Keyser Street, for violating the terms of a protection order. At a cross country meet on 29 Aug, Mr. Hanner allegedly intentionally walked within the fifty feet specified in a protection order Chelsea Browne, age 20, 116 Arborgate Drive, Marietta, has against him.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Tony Randall Oldham, age 40, 710 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Oldham was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Proctor of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 09 at 12:49 am.

Stephen Lee Parrish, age 42, 306 Putnam Avenue, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Parrish was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 09 at 1:25 am.
