On 28 Aug 09 Sgt. Norman issued a citation
to Elizabeth R. Goins, age 19, 1340 Patten Mills Road, Cutler,
for failing to stop at a red light. Sgt. Norman stopped Ms.
Goins after she failed to stop at the light at the intersection
of Third and Washington streets in Marietta.
On 28 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued
a citation to Eva R. Grywalsky, age 45, 880 Alloway Street,
Little Hocking, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy
Lockhart stopped Ms. Grywalsky on State Route 555 near Wallace
Road in Decatur Township.
On 28 Aug 09 an employee of Northeast Ohio
Gas reported a resident on Railroad Street in Whipple handed
him $83.42 in cash in an envelope to have the gas turned on
in the residence. The employee said he placed the envelope
in his truck while he check the pilot light on the hot water
heater and when he returned to the truck the envelope was open
and only $1.42 remained. This case remains under investigation
(610).
On 28 Aug 09 Robert E. Weiker, age 26, 12420
State Route 60, Lowell, reported he awoke that morning and
discovered his basement door was ajar. Mr. Weiker said a compound
bow and a monogrammed pocket knife were both missing from where
he placed them in the basement. This case remains under investigation
(610).
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
Investigating a lead pertaining to the attempted robbery of
the Lowell Duke and Duchess convenience store this morning,
Detectives and Major Crimes Task Force Agents executed a search
warrant at 423 Fifth Street, Lowell, OH. The search warrant
led to the discovery of black clothing and a firearm that Detectives
believe were used during the foiled attempt. Officers later
arrested Ashley Caffey, age 24, of the above address without
incident walking on the roadway near 1195 East Branch Road,
Lowell, OH. Caffey is being held without bond in the Washington
County Jail pending an appearance in Marietta Municipal Court.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Amber Nicole Madison, age 23, 111 Hart Street
Apt. 3, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Madison
was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 28 Aug 09 at 12:38 am.
Katherine Theresa Portue, age 49, 12870 Muskingum
River Road, Lowell, for operating a vehicle with an expired
license and for failure to control, both misdemeanors. Portue
was arrested at her residence by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug 09
at 9:45 am.
Orville Kent Hilderbrand, age 46, 4661 Staunton Turnpike,
Davisville, WV, for carrying a concealed weapon, a felony.
Hilderbrand turned himself in to Corrections Officer Farrell
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Aug
09 at 12:30 pm.
Ashley Nicole Caffey, age 24, 423 Fifth Street, Lowell, for
aggravated robbery, a felony. Caffey was arrested on Cats Creek
Road in Lowell by Detective Parks of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 28 Aug 09 at 3:47 pm.
