On 22 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Rebecca D. Wagner, age 20, 1324 Colonial Drive,
Marietta, for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins
stopped Ms. Wagner on State Route 7 near Gravel Bank Road in
Warren Township.
On 22 Aug 09 Angela Bookman, age 30, 90 Stanley
Street, Newport, reported she peered out her window that afternoon
and observed an acquaintance removing the temporary license
plate from the rear of her vehicle. This case remains under
investigation pending the location of the suspect (594).
On 22 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Brittany R. Taylor, age 19, 1203 State Route
23, Mogadore, OH, for traveling 85 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy
Mankins stopped Mr. Taylor on US 50 near State Route 339 in
Belpre Township.
On 22 Aug 09 George Klintworth, age 46, 14285
Muskingum River Road, Lowell, reported he was away from his
home for more than twenty-four hours and sometime during that
period an unknown suspect(s) removed a large quantity of scrap
metal from his property that he estimates was worth $680. This
case remains under investigation (1104).
On 22 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Teresa E. Strebler, age 20, 3109 State Route
183, Atwater, OH, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy
Mankins stopped Ms. Strebler on State Route 7 near Joe Skinner
Road in Dunham Township.
On 22 Aug 09 the Little Hocking emergency
squad transported a thirty-nine year old Little Hocking resident
to Camden Clark Hospital for treatment to superficial wounds
he inflicted on himself (308).
On 22 Aug 09 John Bonnette, age 26, 10021
State Route 550, Vincent, reported a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber
compact pistol was stolen from his Yamaha Rhino while he left
it briefly unattended that afternoon. Mr. Bonnette did not
desire to pursue charges against the alleged suspect (608).
On 22 Aug 09 Dean Wolfert, age 53, 309 Walnut
Drive, Whipple, reported at some point during the past week
an unknown suspect stole two Honda ATVs from property he owns
at 1287 Peaker Run Road in Macksburg. This case remains under
investigation (805).
On 22 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio requested
a summons for a fifteen year old Marietta resident to appear
in Juvenile Court for being unruly. The juvenile’s guardian
reported earlier that evening that the teenager left their
home without permission. Located shortly thereafter approximately
300 yards away, the teenager said she left the home because
she was upset that she was sent to her room and was not permitted
to visit a neighbor’s home.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Anthony Ray Nichols II, age 27, 9255 State Route 377, Chesterhill,
for felony charges of robbery, aggravated robbery, kidnapping
and failure to appear and for misdemeanor charges of driving
under a suspended license, theft, failure to appear and for
being in possession of an open container of alcohol. Nichols
was arrested near the Athens county line by Detective Rhodes
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 09 at 12:01 am.
Roger Lee Slack Sr., age 63, 840 Pike Street Apt. 25, Marietta,
for resisting arrest, menacing and breach of recognizance,
all misdemeanors. Slack was arrested on Interstate 77 by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 Aug 09 at 9:06 am.
