On 21 Aug 09 residents on Sweetapple Road, Barrett-South Road, Spring Avenue and Main Street in Vincent reported they awoke that morning to discover an unknown suspect(s) entered their unlocked vehicles sometime during the night. Most of the victims reported only loose change was taken from their vehicles parked outdoors but two said the suspect(s) entered their vehicles inside unlocked garages. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 21 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Taylor D. Nutter, age 21, 6404 State Route 555, Little Hocking, for traveling 68 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Nutter on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

On 21 Aug 09 Karen Schwendeman, age 47, 155 Christy Road, Fleming, reported she recently gained possession of a residence at 615 Christy Road that has been vacant for twenty-one years. Ms. Schwendeman said she recently noticed items missing from storage barns on the property and believes someone rummaged through rooms inside the residence. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 21 Aug 09 Debra Sayres, age 51, 147 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, reported upon notifying her bank that her ATM card was stolen she discovered a family member used the card to withdraw $700 from her account. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 21 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio assisted probation officers in investigating a party involving juveniles and alcohol at 1825 Greene Street, Marietta. Granted permission to enter the residence by the homeowner, Deputy Travaglio noticed a bag of marijuana on a coffee table in front of a couch. When questioned, John M. Krenisky, age 18, 107 Vine Street, Marietta, admitted the marijuana belonged to him. Another subject, identified as Christopher Cook, age 18, 121 Oakwood Avenue, Marietta, had an odor of alcohol and tested .017 BAC. As a result of the investigation, Deputy Travaglio requested a summons for Mr. Cook for underage consumption of alcohol and issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Mr. Krenisky for possession of marijuana.

On 21 Aug 09 Lenora Farley, age 67, 3730 State Route 26, Marietta, reported she was visiting one of her sons’ home at 160 Strahler Road, Waterford, when another son damaged the front door to the residence and then used a utility knife to slash the passenger side tires of her vehicle. Ms. Farley said her son, Jeffrey D. Parker, age 44, 3730 State Route 26, Marietta, appeared at the residence and demanded to know where his girlfriend was. When she would not tell him where the woman was, Ms. Farley stated Mr. Parker became very angry and caused the damage to the door and vehicle. Viewing the damage to substantiate the allegation, Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck requested a warrant for Mr. Parker for two counts of criminal damaging.

On 21 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested Daniel E. Christopher, age 33, 975 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, and Joshua E. Hazle, age 31, 1067 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Hazle was parked in his vehicle with Mr. Christopher as a passenger when Deputy Mankins encountered the vehicle at Lane Farm Campground. Despite Mr. Hazle’s assertion that there was nothing illegal in the car Deputy Mankins noticed an odor of burnt marijuana. A consensual search led Deputy Mankins to discover a warm metal marijuana pipe. Both subjects subsequently admitted using the pipe to smoke marijuana in the vehicle.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jason Lee Taylor, age 27, 1125 Bells Run Road, Newport, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 09 at 10:15 am.

Shane Michael Bennett, age 33, 718 ½ Middle Street Apt. B, Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Bennett was picked up at the Belpre City Police Department by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 09 at 11:25 am.

Kelly Jane Farnsworth, age 21, 122 Harmar Street, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Farnsworth was arrested on Franklin Street by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 09 at 2:45 pm.

Daniel Edward Christopher, age 33, 975 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Christopher was arrested at Lane Farm Campground by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 09 at 9:45 pm.

Joshua Eric Hazle, age 31, 1067 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Hazle was arrested at Lane Farm Campground by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 09 at 9:45 pm.

Joshua Allen Campbell, age 26, 188 Cats Creek Road, Lowell, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Campbell was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 09 at 11:58 pm.
