On 18 Aug 09 Melody A. Keene, age 55, 16785
County Nine Road, New Matamoras, reported two days ago her
housemate Melissa J. Flesher, age 34, took her vehicle without
permission and had not yet returned it. Investigating a tip
on the vehicle’s location, Lt. Gherke and Deputy Sheriff
Holbert observed the 1993 Buick Regal outside a residence on
Barber Street in Marietta. Found inside a residence, Ms. Flesher
admitted taking the vehicle and said she planned on returning
it but stated someone stole the keys earlier that day. Therefore,
Ms. Flesher said, she had a friend hotwire the car so it could
be driven. Ms. Flesher further elaborated that she consumed
alcohol throughout the evening and was currently not in a condition
to drive the vehicle. As a result of their investigation, Deputy
Holbert requested a summons for Ms. Flesher for the unauthorized
use of a motor vehicle and for criminal mischief.
On 18 Aug 09 Sgt. Norman and Deputy Sheriffs
Sheaves and Travaglio investigated multiple reports of unlocked
vehicles being entered in the vicinity 855 and 1025 Browns
Road in Marietta. Two of the entered vehicles were parked inside
an unlocked garage while the other three vehicles were parked
outside. Several electronics devices in the vehicles were left
untouched, with the thieves only stealing an estimated total
of $2 in loose change.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Casey Alexander Snyder, age 24, 732 Braun
Road, Belpre, for illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor
establishment, a felony. Snyder was picked up at the Noble
Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Aug 09 at 10:57 am.
Michael Anthony Bowman, age 25, 126 Franklin Street, for being
a fugitive from justice, a felony. Bowman was arrested at his
residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
18 Aug 09 at 5:12 pm.
Amber Fawne Johnson, age 36, 10015 State Route 260, New Matamoras,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Johnson was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18
Aug 09 at 7:35 pm.
