On 15 Aug 09 a witness reported seeing what
appeared to be a floor safe laying along Boswell Road in Newport.
Examining the item, Deputy Sheriff Simmons found information
indicating the owners of the safe reside n Norwalk, Ohio. Deputy
Simmons contacted the Huron County Sheriff’s Office,
who informed him that the safe was stolen from their jurisdiction.
Authorities in Huron County are arranging to pick up the safe
in order to further their investigation.
On 15 Aug 09 Phillip Moore, age 55, 1734 State
Route 124, Little Hocking, reported sometime overnight an unknown
suspects(s) pried open the steel door and entered his office
at 20 Old River Road, Little Hocking. Mr. Moore said no items
were stolen but the break in did cause $850 in damage. This
case remains under investigation (790).
On 15 Aug 09 Robert Tate, age 59, 2266 Briggs
Hill Road, Belpre, reported at some point during the past two
days an unknown suspect(s) damaged the windshield of Buick
Skylark he has parked on a property he owns at 1769 Briggs
Hill Road. This case remains under investigation (790).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Richard Paul Bohl, age 42, 6585 State Route 676, Stockport,
for OVI, for failure to reinstate his operator’s license,
for driving left of center and for possession of drugs, all
misdemeanors. Bohl was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Hunter
of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 15 Aug 09 at 3:11 am.
Gary Lee Cable, age 29, 43425 Hohman Road, Caldwell, for failure
to appear, a misdemeanor. Cable was picked up at the Noble
county line by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 15 Aug 09 at 12:59 pm.
Larry Gene Joy, age 46, 1220 East Branch Road, Lowell, for
trafficking in drugs, a felony. Joy was arrested at his residence
by Detective Smithberger of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15
Aug 09 at 5:05 pm.
