On 13 Aug 09 Josh A. Mettler, age 29, 345
Main Street, Waterford, reported a Lawn Boy lawn mower valued
at $300 was stolen from his yard while he attended the Waterford
Fair between 5:30 and 10:30 that evening. This case remains
under investigation (712, 809).
On 13 Aug 09 Debra Gerhold, age 51, 270 Veto
Road, Little Hocking, reported beginning in June of this year
she noticed a number of items appeared to be missing from her
home. The stolen items, which include jewelry, clothing and
DVDs, have an approximate value of $3,900. This case remains
under investigation (308, 500).
On 13 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Holbert arrested
Eric L. Hapney, age 18, 107 Colonial Square Apt. F, Belpre,
for criminal mischief. Deputy Holbert was investigating a report
of a driver doing donuts in the parking lot of Friendship Ridge
Church at 4485 Braun Road, Belpre when Mr. Hapney approached
him. Without being asked, Mr. Hapney admitted he was the driver
of the vehicle and said he spun his tires and drove his vehicle
in circles in the church’s gravel parking lot. The parking
lot appears to be damaged to the extent that excavating will
be necessary to repair the damage.
On 13 Aug 09 Detective Rhodes issued a citation
to Susan R. Harvey, age 35, 421 Clark Road, Cutler, for driving
under a suspended license. Detective Rhodes stopped Ms. Harvey
on State Route 555 near Hill Road in Wesley Township.
On 13 Aug 09 Detective Staats arrested Brandon
M. Schmidt, age 19, 416 Mulberry Street, Marietta, for a third
degree felony charge of trafficking in a bulk amount of the
Schedule II drug, Percocet. Inside his residence three days
earlier, Mr. Schmidt sold a confidential informant 100 Percocet
pills for $400.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brandon Michael Schmidt, age 19, 416 Mulberry
Street, Marietta, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Schmidt
was arrested at his residence by Detective Staats of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 Aug 09 at 10:12 am.
Challis Curtis Howell, age 26, 18695 State Route 26, Reno,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Howell
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Willson and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 09 at 11:11
am.
Denise Renee Malone, age 39, Franklin Street, Marietta, for
violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Malone
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Willson and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 09 at 4:50
pm.
Stephen Lee Parish, age 42, 101 Franklin Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear and for contempt of a court order, both
misdemeanors. Parish was arrested at his residence by Patrolman
Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 09 at 6:00 pm.
Benjamin Randall Bruce, age 20, 389 Muskingum River Road,
Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Bruce turned himself
in to Patrolman Blasko at the Marietta City Police Department
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Aug
09 at 6:13 pm.

Road in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 13 Aug 09 at 11:00 pm.
