On 12 Aug 09 the manager of White Oak Pharmacy,
8465 State Route 339, Vincent, reported on 7 Aug he discovered
an employee falsified a return transaction on a cash register
and pocketed $32. A further review of the now former employee’s
transactions revealed the employee began falsifying returns
in January of this year and stole in excess of $3,000. This
case remains under investigation (308, 500).
On 12 Aug 09 Jerry Bedilion, age 59, 130 Pitts
Road, Marietta, reported at some point during the past two
weeks an unknown suspect(s) entered a storage building on his
property and stole an ice maker, two power sanders, three power
saws,. Two drills, a router, a grinder, a ladder and a laser
level. The estimated loss due to the theft is over $2,400.
This case remains under investigation (308, 500).
On 12 Aug 09 Roger Anderson, age 51, 4450
Barnett Ridge Road, Barlow, reported a large sum of cash he
has been saving was stolen from its hidden location sometime
during the past three days. This case remains under investigation
(805).
On 12 Aug 09 a Muskingum Township trustee
reported he has been having problems with a Devola resident
ever since the township began an investigation into a possible
zoning violation. In one instance the subject of the violation
reportedly sped his vehicle toward a zoning inspector who was
taking pictures. The trustee said the second incident occurred
when he was driving on Masonic Park Road and the subject crossed
his approaching vehicle into the oncoming lane and swerved
back before causing a collision. This case remains under investigation
(805).
On 12 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Reeder issued
a minor misdemeanor citation to Keith M. Dupler, age 21, 1104
Tick Hill Road, Lowell, for disorderly conduct. Upset that
his sister confronted him about corresponding with a prison
inmate, Mr. Dupler flew into a rage, began shouting and put
his sister in a choke hold. Mr. Dupler’s sister said
she did not fear for her safety during incident and commented
she would not cooperate in court if any charges were filed.
On 12 Aug 09 Debbie M. Steward, age 48, 1635
Clark Road, Cutler, reported she was involved in a domestic
dispute with her ex-husband Ronan, age 49, who has lived at
her residence off and on since their marriage ended eight years
ago. Drinking beer and discussing their failed marriage, Ms.
Steward said her ex-husband refused to leave her residence
and began calling her derogatory names. Deciding instead to
leave herself, Ms. Steward said her ex-husband stepped in front
of her to prevent her from leaving. Ms. Steward pushed her
away around Mr. Steward and commented that she thought the
Washington County Jail had a place for him to stay if he could
not find a place to go. The statement caused Mr. Steward to
grow increasingly upset, at which point he pinned his ex-wife
to a chair, threatened to kill her if she phoned for help and
slapped her across the face. Ms. Steward fled outside to her
vehicle and was backing out of her driveway when Mr. Steward
punched the hood of the vehicle and brushed against the side,
claiming his ex-wife ran him over. Investigating R. Steward’s
claim, Lt. Gherke, Sgt. Thorpe and Deputy Sheriff Mayle were
unable to discover any evidence supporting the allegation.
As a result of the incident, Deputy Mayle arrested Mr. Steward
for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Trent Dwight Mason, age 20, 432 Douglas Street,
Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Mason was arrested
on Front Street by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
12 Aug 09 at 6:00 pm.
Glenn Roger Johnson Jr., age 22, 116 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested on Franklin Street
by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Aug 09
at 10:15 pm.
Ronan Michael Steward, age 49, 1635 Clark Road, Cutler, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Steward was arrested in Cutler
by Deputy Sheriff Mayle and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 12 Aug 09 at 11:44 pm.
