On 10 Aug 09 a Newport resident reported finding a key ring with three keys in her mailbox. Deputy Sheriff Mankins placed the keys into evidence pending the location of the owner.

On 10 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Carr investigate a minor two vehicle crash that occurred in the vicinity of 788 Mount Tom Road, Marietta. John A. Givens, age 28, 100B Linwood Avenue, Marietta, was traveling eastbound in a Chevy truck when Tasha N. Glidden, age 26, 205 Sheldon Avenue Apt. 4, Marietta, struck his rear bumper with her Ford Taurus. Both parties provided contradictory statements about the crash’s sequence of events, leading Deputy Carr unable to determine the party who was at fault. The crash caused non functional damage to the bumpers of both vehicles. As a result of the incident Deputy Carr issued citations to Mr. Givens for operating a vehicle with an expired license, for having fictitious registration and for not having insurance.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Danielle Marie Zaayer, age 32, 300 Starlite Drive Lot 36, Marietta, for using deception to obtain a dangerous drug, a felony. Zaayer was arrested on Acme Street by Detective Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 09 at 9:50 pm.

John Wayne Luke, age 48, 717 Quarry Street, Marietta, for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Luke was arrested at the intersection of Walker and Quarry Streets by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 09 at 11:41 pm.
