On 9 Aug 09 Gary J. Nottingham, age 36, 1440
Barth Road, Belpre, was transported to Marietta Memorial for
treatment following an ATV accident on his property. Coherent
and suffering only from bruising, Mr. Nottingham said unexpectedly
encountered a ravine, was thrown from the ATV and landed on
his head. CT scans and x-rays revealed no serious injuries
(809, 1293).
On 9 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio investigated
multiple reports of items being stolen from vehicles on Lynch
Church Road and Goose Run Road. In total, seven vehicles were
entered at six different residences, including one vehicle
that was parked inside an unlocked garage. Once entering the
vehicles the suspect(s) left valuables such as GPS units and
digital cameras untouched but removed a total of approximately
$32 in loose change from various locations. One vehicle owner
however did report her prescription bottle containing Vicodin
was missing.
On 9 Aug 09 William Richards, age 20, 607
Ninth Street, Marietta, reported he made a disparaging remark
to an acquaintance while attending a party on Warren Chapel
Road the previous evening. Mr. Richards said his acquaintance
took exception to the comment and punched him in the face,
knocking him unconscious. Witnesses stated the acquaintance
then struck Mr. Richards again as he lay on the ground. This
case remains under investigation (707).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Randy Joe Clevenger, age 22, 240 Francis Road, Lowell, for
violating the terms of a protection order, resisting arrest,
obstructing official business, criminal damaging and for disorderly
conduct by intoxication, all misdemeanors. Clevenger was arrested
on Cory Street by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
9 Aug 09 at 1:07 am.
Andrew Don Creighton, age 18, 411 Couglar Street, New Matamoras,
for .02 underage OVI and for having an inoperable license plate
light, both misdemeanors. Creighton was arrested on State Route
7 by Chief Bourne of the New Matamoras Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 09 at 5:26
am.
Frederick Gale McKitrick, age 27, 3010 Burnett Road, Cutler,
for breach of recognizance, failure to appear and for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, all misdemeanors.
McKitrick was arrested at 476 Walsh Road by Sgt. Thorpe of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Aug 09 at 8:59 pm.
Brandon Paul Layman, age 27, 112 Holly Street, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Layman was arrested at his
residence by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
9 Aug 09 at 9:30 pm.
