On 8 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued
a citation to Lindsay M. Shank, age 27, 1531 Peach Tree Lane,
Washington, WV, for traveling 60 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy
Lockhart stopped Ms. Shank on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre
Township.
On 8 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Mayle arrested
Britnee R. Childers-Beers, age 23, 405 Allen Street, Marion,
IL, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Attending a wedding
reception in Lowell, Ms. Childers-Beers became intoxicated
and decided she wanted to leave the reception. Outside standing
along State Route 60, Ms. Childers-Beers attempted to flag
down a vehicle and staggered as she walked. Ms. Childers-Beers’ boyfriend
attempted to prevent her from injuring herself but she was
uncooperative and at one point bit him on the arm. For her
safety Ms. Childers-Beers was transported to the Washington
County Jail. At the jail Ms. Childers-Beers tested .146 BAC.
On 8 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle whose driver turned off his headlights
and turned them immediately back on. Questioned about his actions,
Larry W. Ridgeway Jr., age 32, 4185 Jackson Run Road, New Matamoras,
replied that he inadvertently turned off the lights while attempting
to turn on his windshield wipers. While speaking to Mr. Ridgeway
Deputy Mankins noticed an odor of alcohol and saw an open bottle
of beer on the floorboard of the driver’s side. Deputy
Mankins also noted that four children under the age of eleven
were seated in the front seat of the pickup truck. Submitting
to field sobriety tests, Mr. Ridgeway performed poorly and
was arrested for OVI. In addition to OVI, Deputy Mankins charged
Mr. Ridgeway with child endangerment, driving under a suspended
license and obstructing official business. When first questioned
Mr. Ridgeway provided a false name and only confessed his true
identity when Deputy Mankins placed him under arrest. The children
were released to the custody of their parents.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Chester Bryan Wilson, age 51, 119 Schilling Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Wilson was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman
Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 8 Aug 09 at 12:18 am.

IL, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Childers-Beers was arrested in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Mayle
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Aug 09 at
11:30 pm.
Larry William Ridgeway Jr., age 32, 4185 Jackson Run Road,
New Matamoras, for a felony charge of violating the terms of
his probation and for misdemeanor charges of OVI, child endangerment,
obstructing official business, driving under a suspended license
and having fictitious plates. Ridgeway was arrested on Wiley
Road in Graysville by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 8 Aug 09 at 11:54 pm.
Brandon James Lott, age 24, 2201 Meadowview Drive, Parkersburg,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Lott was arrested on Washington Boulevard
by Chief Clevenger of the Belpre City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Aug 09 at 11:56
pm.
