On 3 Aug 09 the Beverly-Waterford emergency squad transported a sixteen year old Newport resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment of an injury suffered at a residence on State Route 339 in Waterford. Alert when assistance arrived, the juvenile stated he was bored and began toying with a 9 mm handgun he found under a bed at his grandfather’s home. The juvenile said he removed the gun’s magazine and pulled back the semi-automatic’s slide when the gun discharged and struck his left index finger. No foul play is suspected in this incident (608).

On 3 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriffs Mayle and Smeeks investigated a possible domestic dispute at 290 State Route 124, Coolville. The alleged victim, Rosie Richards, age 50, stated she walked past her brother as she left her living room when he punched her in the leg. Ms. Richards said the two did not argue and that once her brother realized she was angry he grabbed his beer and left the residence. Interviewing the suspect, the Deputies determined he punched Ms. Richards jokingly and did not intend to harm her. Ms. Richards agreed, saying she did not fear for her safety during the dispute. As a result, Deputy Mayle closed this case as unfounded.

Michael Brian Page, age 42, 817 Masonic Park Road Lot 1, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Page was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 09 at 9:10 am.

Billy Allen Babcock, age 33, 165 Killwell Run Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Babcock was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 09 at 10:50 am.

Amanda D. Wharton, age 28, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Wharton was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 09 at 11:55 am.

Roland Scott Foss, age 38, 3851 Early Ridge Road, McConnelsville, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Foss was arrested at Quimby’s Bar by Chief Brockmeier of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 09 at 12:20 pm.

Brian Michael Taylor, age 21, 102 Flintwood Drive, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 09 at 5:00 pm.

Todd Daniel Weddle, age 40, 100 Cisler Lane Apt. C6, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Weddle was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 09 at 5:43 pm.

Keith Adam Baker, age 27, 1125 19th Street, Parkersburg, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors. Baker was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 09 at 8:50 pm.

Eric Shawn Owens, age 29, 673 Rocky Point Road, Fleming, for domestic violence, driving under a suspended license and for nonsupport of dependants, all misdemeanors. Owens was arrested in Marietta by Sgt. Thorpe of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 09 at 11:30 pm.
