On 2 Aug 09 the principal of Barlow-Vincent
Elementary School, 70 Warrior Drive, Vincent, reported being
informed by a teacher that vandals discharged a fire extinguisher
in one classroom and broke a number of lights in another classroom.
Identifying a suspect, Deputy Sheriff Mankins interviewed a
twelve year old Vincent resident who admitted causing the damage
with several friends. The juvenile also stated the gang damaged
school district property at a storage building and stole items
after breaking into the concession stand at the Warren High
School football field. Deputy Mankins anticipates filing charges
after the completion of additional interviews.
On 2 Aug 09 Lt. Wilson issued a minor misdemeanor
citation to Sandra J. Sutton, age 61, 276 BF Goodrich Road,
Marietta, for disorderly conduct. Angry that her husband would
not give her mobile phone back to her, Mrs. Sutton began a
verbal tirade and at one point scratched her husband’s
arm.
On 2 Aug 09 Deputy Sheriff Anderson arrested
Jeffrey J. Ruby, age 52, 2356 N. Limestone Street, Springfield,
OH, for theft. A quick change scam artist, Mr. Ruby purchased
a pack of cigarettes from the Corner Store in Beverly and initiated
his ruse. Confounding the clerk by repeatedly asking him to
change smaller bills into larger bills, Mr. Ruby departed the
store after his scam netted $288. Mr. Ruby was arrested after
his vehicle was later stopped by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Placed under arrest, Mr. Ruby provided a birth date, address
and social security number that Deputies later determined to
be that of his thirty-eight year old brother. Consequently,
Mr. Ruby was additionally charged with falsification.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Daniel Edward Hendrickson, age 55, 775 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta,
for resisting arrest and for disorderly conduct by intoxication,
both misdemeanors. Hendrickson was arrested at the intersection
of Greene and Second streets by Patrolman McCracken of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 2 Aug 09 at 5:00 am.
Julius Antonio Ruby Sr., age 38, 812 Eppington Drive, Dayton,
for theft, a misdemeanor. Ruby was arrested in Beverly by Deputy
Sheriff Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 2 Aug 09 at 7:50 pm.
