On 28 Jul 09 Shirley Williams, age 68, 360
Brownsville Road, New Matamoras, reported she has been filling
a five gallon water jug for the past fifteen years and last
remembered seeing the hidden jug in March. Ms. Williams said
she just noticed the jug was missing and estimated it contained
over $750. This case remains under investigation (610).
On 28 Jul 09 Gary Ailes, age 54, 16873 Haydenville
Road, Haydenville, OH, reported he has been storing his 1989
Harley Davidson in a friend’s garage at 153 Woodruff
Road, Vincent. When Mr. Ailes went to retrieve the motorcycle,
which has been stored at the garage since 2008, the motorcycle
was missing. The garage’s owner said two individuals
hauled the motorcycle away in the spring of 2008, saying that
Mr. Ailes sold the motorcycle to them. Deputy Sheriff Lockhart
contacted the bank through which Mr. Ailes received a loan
for the bike and determined it was not repossessed, for the
bank is searching for the bike in order to repossess it due
to nonpayment. This case remains under investigation.
On 28 Jul 09 an employee of Bridge Overlay
Systems, the company contracted to resurface the Waterford
bridge on State Route 339, reported approximately fifty pieces
of rebar were stolen from the company’s storage location
at the Waterford Fairgrounds. Ranging in lengths from a foot
to thirty-eight feet, the rebar was stolen sometime during
the past two weeks and has an estimated value of $890. This
case remains under investigation (790).
On 28 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Jonathan W. Thomas, age 37, 1204 County House
Lane Apt. B, Marietta, for failure to obey a traffic control
device. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Thomas after observing him
driving around two road closed signs on Lancaster Street at
the intersection of Fort Harmar Drive in Marietta.
On 28 Jul 09 an employee of Lang Oil and Gas
reported when he checked an oil well site in the vicinity of
11000 Muskingum River Road in Adams Township he discovered
a Honda electric start motor and a battery were missing. The
value of the stolen items is approximately $2,000. This case
remains under investigation (790).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jason Allen Lauderman, age 21, 838 Front Street
APT. c, Marietta, for domestic violence and for driving under
an FRA suspended license, both misdemeanors. Lauderman was
arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Huffman of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 28 Jul 09 at 9:40 am.
Daniel Timothy Reese III, age 50, 12590 State Route 550, Fleming,
for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel,
both misdemeanors. Reese was arrested near milepost seven on
State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jul 09 at 3:25 pm.
Jeffrey Alan Theiss, age 31, 319 Seventh Street, Marietta,
for tampering with evidence, a felony. Theiss was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
28 Jul 09 at 3:35 pm.
