On 25 Jul 0 Darlena K. Morrison, age 28, 38137
State Route 7, Newport, reported she awoke to discover a foot
and a half long scratch on the hood of her minivan. This case
remains under investigation (695).
On 25 Jul 09 Sgt. Thorpe issued a citation
to Elizabeth A. Stevens, age 59, 280 Leo Sams Road, Chesterhill,
for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Thorpe stopped
Ms. Stevens on State Route 7 near Blue Knob Road in Warren
Township.
On 25 Jul 09 Ken Crislip, age 45, 177 Lawn
Lane, Belpre, reported at some point during the past two days
an unknown suspect(s) stole an Eton ATV he had parked next
to his driveway. Mr. Crislip said the ATV is red, has a dead
battery and a missing rear right fender. This case remains
under investigation (608).
On 25 Jul 09 Randall L. Hughes, age 52, 11305
State Route 26, Marietta, reported he was harassed and assaulted
by an individual at the Reno Raceway that afternoon. Mr. Hughes
state the suspect first shoved him while he was walking with
his grandson and later confronted him while he sat in his vehicle.
Blocked by two vehicles as he was leaving the raceway, Mr.
Hughes said the suspect approached his vehicle, opened the
door and attempted to pull him out of the truck. A bystander
intervened, at which point the suspect grabbed and pulled Mr.
Hughes’ hair. Attempts to identify and locate the suspect
only known as Eddie are continuing (809, 1293).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Joshua Wayne Caldwell, age 26, 189 Strawberry Loop, Princeton,
WV, for theft and for violating the terms of his probation,
both felonies. Caldwell was arrested on State Route 7 in Marietta
by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 25 Jul 09 at 9:02 pm.
Joseph Martin Powell, age 27, 5878 Baker Street, Fort Benning,
GA, for OVI and speeding, both misdemeanors. Powell was arrested
in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 Jul 09 at 11:55 pm.
