On 17 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued
a citation to Stephen L. Ludwig, age 19, 217 Kenwood Avenue,
Marietta, for not stopping at a stop sign. Deputy Travaglio
stopped Mr. Ludwig after he failed to stop when turning from
Browns Road onto State Route 7 in Marietta Township.
On 17 Jul 09 Dustin M. Ross, age 25, 124 Tennis
Center Drive Apt. 3A, Marietta, reported three checks he earned
as a subcontractor for Lowe’s were sent to his former
residence on Browns Road in Marietta during the month of June.
Mr. Ross said an unknown suspect(s), possibly the current tenant
of his former residence, forged and cashed the checks, which
were for a total of $233. This case remains under investigation
(296).
On 17 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued
a citation to Michael K. Anderson, age 19, 108 Miller Street
Apt. 2, Paden City, WV, for not wearing a seat belt. Deputy
Travaglio originally stopped Mr. Anderson for having a loud
exhaust in the vicinity of Greene Street on State Route 7 in
Newport Township.
On 17 Jul 09 Marlyn Smith, age 64, 19570 State
Route 550, Marietta, reported being assaulted by her live-in
boyfriend Harvey O. Spencer, age 66. Alleging Ms. Smith stole
his money and lost it gambling, Mr. Spencer pulled Ms. Smith
out of bed by her legs and chased her as she fled to the kitchen.
Ms. Smith stated Mr. Spencer struck her in the left side of
the neck, causing her to feel dizzy. Told she was calling for
help, Mr. Spencer said to Ms. Smith if she didn’t leave
the residence he would really hurt her. As a result of the
incident, Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested Mr. Spencer for domestic
violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Deane Alan Curtis, age 47, 220 Pennsylvania
Avenue Apt. 1, Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Curtis
turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jul 09 at 12:45 pm.
Randall Craig Wilson, age 51, 1007 Gilman Avenue, Marietta,
for aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor. Wilson was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
17 Jul 09 at 10:30 pm.
