On 5 Jul 09 Gary D. Beagle, age 48, 412 Main
Street, New Matamoras, reported he was at Main Street Pizza
in New Matamoras when Wilber O. Dunn III, age 23, 1308 Williamson
Avenue Apt. 4B, New Matamoras, shot a bottle rocket at him.
Mr. Beagle said the bottle rocket exploded on his left arm
and Mr. Dunn proceeded to sucker punch him when he asked him
what his problem was. Struck four or five times before a bystander
pulled Mr. Dunn off him, Mr. Beagle lost four teeth as a result
of the attack. Unable to locate the assailant, Deputy Sheriff
Carr requested a summons for Mr. Dunn for assault.
On 5 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Terry L. Bailey, age 18, 67984 State Route 124, Reedsville,
OH, for possession of the Schedule III drug Vicodin. Stopping
the vehicle on State Route 7 near State Route 555 for having
illegal window tint, Deputy Smeeks noticed an odor of burnt
marijuana emanating from the vehicle and noticed four pills
on the floorboard. A canine indication for the presence of
drugs in the vehicle prompted a search of the vehicle that
resulted in the discovery of a cigarette pack containing seven
Vicodin pills under the seat Mr. Bailey occupied.
On 5 Jul 09 Dorothy Smith, age 40, 1024 Pike
Street, Marietta, reported she was drinking with her live-in
boyfriend Gary Harbison, age 41, when an argument erupted over
one of her former boyfriends. During the incident, Ms. Smith
said Mr. Harbison threw her to the floor in their bedroom and
choked her. Stopping when Ms. Smith said she wouldn’t
phone for help, Mr. Harbison proceeded to throw and destroy
items in the home. Absent from the scene while Sgt. Johnson
and Deputy Sheriff Lockhart conducted an investigation, Mr.
Harbison returned to the home as the Deputies were about to
depart. As Sgt. Johnson arrested Mr. Harbison for domestic
violence, Harbison said “wait ‘til I get out, you’ve
had it.” Mr. Harbison was unapologetic and continued
to denigrate Ms. Smith as he was transported to the Washington
County Jail.
On 5 Jul 09 an employee of Family Dollar,
10340 State Route 550, Barlow, reported she long had suspicions
of a customer shoplifting but was never able to catch her in
the act. The employee said when she saw Faith A. Wilson, age
28, 6169 State Route 550, Cutler, enter the store this time,
she surreptitiously monitored her as she shopped. Watching
Ms. Wilson remove a pair of shorts from a hanger and placing
them in her purse, the employee said Ms. Wilson went through
the checkout line to pay for another item. Confronted about
the shorts she allegedly stole, Ms. Wilson refused to open
her purse and left the store, saying she will never be back.
Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested
a summons for Ms. Wilson for theft. The value of the stolen
shorts is $3.90.
On 5 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded
to the scene of death of a forty-nine year old Wingett Run
resident. Though the woman’s death does not appear suspicious,
this case remains under investigation.

Janice Anne Gammill, age 48, 1314 Lancaster Street, Marietta,
for OVI and for failure to obey a traffic control device, both
misdemeanors. Gammill was arrested at the intersection of Third
and Greene streets in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 09 at
12:40 am.
Gary Wayne Harbison, age 41, 1024 Pike Street, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Harbison was arrested at
his residence by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 09 at 3:45 am.
Melissa Kristine Miklovik, age 20, 65 Stewart Street, Athens,
for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Miklovik
was arrested at 523 Fifth Street by Patrolman McCracken of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 09 at 3:50 am.
James Leo Nelson, age 54, 1050 State Route 144, Coolville,
for OVI, failure to control and for operating a vehicle with
expired registration, all misdemeanors. Nelson was arrested
on Walnut Street by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 Jul 09 at 4:13 am.
Sabra Danielle Eddy, age 21, 4739 Hilton Avenue Apt. 7A, Columbus,
for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Eddy was
arrested near milepost three on State Route 821 by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 Jul 09 at 1:55 pm.
Christian Polanco, age 23, 600 S. Wayne Avenue, Columbus,
for driving under a suspended license and for reckless operation,
both misdemeanors. Polanco was arrested near milepost three
on State Route 821 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 09 at 1:55 pm.
Mark Allen Ashbrook, age 28, 13499 Cable Road SW, Pataskala,
OH, for a felony charge of receiving stolen property and for
misdemeanor charges of operating a vehicle with an expired
license, hit-skip, reckless operation and possession of drugs.
Ashbrook was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul
09 at 3:08 pm.
Douglas William Crooks II, age 29, 9021 Zito Drive, Niagara
Falls, NY, for littering, a misdemeanor. Crooks was arrested
in Lowell by Officer Stone of the Ohio Department of Natural
Resources and processed into the Washington County Jail on
5 Jul 09 at 5:30 pm.
Terry Lee Bailey, age 18, 67984 State Route 124, Reedsville,
OH, for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Bailey was arrested
on State Route 7 near State Route 555 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jul 09 at
8:30 pm.
Patrick Allen Luyster, age 19, 909 Fourth Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Luyster was arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 5 Jul 09 at 9:05 pm.
