On 2 Jul 09 Lisa Roush, age 44, 2217 Windy
Ridge Road, Vincent, reported she is divorcing her husband
and for the past two days she has been attempting to persuade
him to move out of their home. Escalating from a verbal confrontation,
Mrs. Roush said her husband Joseph, age 45, struck her in the
face with an open hand. Unable to locate the suspect, Deputy
Sheriff Hornbeck requested a warrant for Mr. Roush for domestic
violence.
On 2 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio located
a vehicle being sought by the Marietta City Police Department
and conducted a traffic stop on State Route 26 near Pleasant
Ridge Road. Approaching the vehicle, Deputy Travaglio noticed
several open containers of beer on the passenger side where
Daniel A. Taylor, age 24, 502 Ferguson Street, Marietta, was
seated. As Taylor exited the vehicle Deputy Travaglio also
observed an opened bottle of Bacardi in Taylor’s back
pocket. The vehicle’s driver, Jason L. Taylor, age 27,
1125 Bells Run Road, Newport, had an odor of alcohol but tested
.024 BAC. Taken into custody on charges filed by Marietta Police,
Jason Taylor admitted a marijuana pipe found in the vehicle
belonged to him. As a result of the traffic stop, Deputy Travaglio
arrested Daniel Taylor for possessing an open container of
alcohol and charged Jason Taylor with possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 2 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Christina Mae Velten, age 25, 2608 Avery Street,
Parkersburg, for operating a vehicle with expired license plates.
Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Velten on State Route 7 near Joe
Skinner Road in Dunham Township.
On 2 Jul 09 Paul Brooks, age 46, 29795 State
Route 7, Marietta, reported he owns a trailer at 1105 Shay
Ridge Road, Newport, and when he recently drove by the property
the trailer was missing. Learning from a witness that the trailer
was towed by the property owner in February, Deputy Sheriff
Travaglio is attempting to contact the owner of the property
for an interview.
On 2 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Michael G. Harris, age 19, 415 Silver Globe Road,
Marietta, for traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins
stopped Mr. Harris at the intersection of Veto Road and State
Route 7 in Warren Township.
On 2 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Frank Root, age 78, 2824 Seventh Street, Coolville,
for failing to display a valid registration. Deputy Mankins
stopped Mr. Root at the intersection of State Route 7 and Joe
Skinner Road in Dunham Township.
On 2 Jun 09 a fifty-one year old Marietta
resident reported she last saw her seventeen year old daughter
on 30 Jun and believes the teenager was en route to Texas with
her boyfriend. Contacted in Texas, the boyfriend’s father
said he thought the juvenile had permission to make the trip
and said they were en route to the Houston area. Consequently,
Lt. Stackpole requested a summons for the teenage to appear
in Juvenile Court for being unruly.
On 2 Jul 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to David L. Adams, age 38, 50481 Pinetree Drive,
Reedsville, for failure to display a valid registration. Deputy
Mankins stopped Mr. Adams at the intersection of Clement Avenue
and US 50 in Belpre Township.
On 2 Jun 09 Arthur Thompson, age 48, 101 Evans
Street Apt. 4, New Matamoras, reported an unauthorized individual
utilized his Wesbanco debit card information to make several
charges on his account between 23 and 29 Jun and with late
charges incurred because of the charges his account is overdrawn
by $329. This case remains under investigation (805).
On 2 Jul 09 a member of the Collins Road Church
of Christ, 708 Collins Road, Little Hocking, reported sometime
overnight an unknown suspect(s) pried open a rear door and
entered the church. While the suspect(s) rooted through a number
of drawers the only missing item is believed to be a jar of
change. This case remains under investigation (712).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jennifer Rose Barth, age 23, 299 County Nine Road, Reno, for
OVI and for failure to control, both misdemeanors. Barth was
arrested on State Route 26 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Jul 09 at
1:38 am.
Daniel Allen Taylor, age 24, 502 Ferguson Street, Marietta,
for being in possession of an open container of alcohol and
for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors.
Taylor was arrested on Pleasant Ridge Road by Deputy Sheriff
Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on
2 Jul 09 at 1:50 am.
Jason Lee Taylor, age 27, 1125 Bells Run Road,
Newport, for a felony charge of improperly handling a weapon
in a motor
vehicle, for four misdemeanor counts of aggravated menacing
and for a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Taylor was arrested on Pleasant Ridge Road by Deputy Sheriff
Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on
2 Jul 09 at 1:50 am.
Daniel Melvin Montgomery, age 57, 6805 Shay
Ridge Road, New Matamoras, for assault, a misdemeanor. Montgomery
turned himself in to Sgt. Thorpe at the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
2 Jul 09 at 12:35 pm.
Guy Arthur Wickham, age 26, 306 Colegate Drive, Marietta,
for driving under an OVI suspended license, for failure to
appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for driving
under a twelve point suspended license, all misdemeanors. Wickham
was arrested on Sunset Drive by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 2 Jul 09 at 2:17 pm.
Daniel Edward Hendrickson, age 55, 775 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Hendrickson was arrested
on Fourth Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 2 Jul 09 at 8:03 pm.
Jack Edward Wilson II, age 24, 1207 George Street, Parkersburg,
for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Wilson
was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Jul 09 at
10:18 pm.
