On 28 Jun 09 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck requested a summons for Gerald L. Lockhart, age 62, 24 State Route 339, Belpre, for two counts of public indecency. The previous evening two pre-teen Belpre residents reported they looked out a window and observed Lockhart standing outside with his pants down to his ankles, rubbing himself. The girls said they were later outside and again saw Mr. Lockhart rubbing himself.

On 28 Jun 09 around midnight Chelsea Clark, age 18, 1785 Hayesville Road, Waterford, reported she was in her room speaking on the phone when her mother Penny Howard, age 41, began berating her about being pregnant. Ms. Clark said her mother pulled her by the back of her shirt and hair and left ring shaped marks on her neck. Ms. Clark’s stepfather Norman, age 51, joined the melee and twice punched the stomach of Ms. Clark, who is twenty-two weeks pregnant. During the incident Mr. and Mrs. Howard both allegedly commented that they hoped Ms. Clark would lose her unborn child. Later that evening Mr. and Mrs. Howard were arrested for a fifth degree felony charge of domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail (597, 608, 712).

On 28 Jun 09 the Barlow Fire Department transported John E. Purinton Jr., age 55, 55 First Street, Vincent, to Marietta Memorial Hospital after he fell from a ladder. Attempting to trim a tree in his yard, Mr. Purinton fell fifteen feet from the ladder and landed on his back (712).

On 28 Jun 09 Robin K. Buck, age 29, 5435 State Route 555, Little Hocking, reported her husband Michael, age 43, awoke that morning and immediately began complaining about the presence of cat feces in a bathroom. Ranting as he collected cat-related items, Mr. Buck threw the numerous items out of the house. As the tirade progressed Mr. Buck stormed throughout the house and once grabbed his thirteen year old daughter’s arm and threw her down the hallway to clear his way. That upset Mrs. Buck, who confronted her husband, and was also pushed to the floor. Seeing her mother attacked, Mrs. Buck’s ten year old daughter attempted to intervene. At that point, Mr. Buck seized the girl’s arm and tossed her to the floor, causing her to injure her ankle. Mr. Buck fled before the arrival of Deputies and could not be located. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested warrants for Mr. Buck for three counts of domestic violence.

On 28 Jun 09 Laura Levier, age 39, 10 Browns Road Apt. 5A, Marietta, reported her live-in boyfriend Bryan A. Huff, age 24, has been abusing her over the past several days. Beginning on 25 Jun and continuing daily until 28 Jun, Ms. Levier said Mr. Huff’s assaults include backhanding her in the face, pinning her against a wall and leaving bruises on her back and shoulders and picking her up by the throat. Ms. Levier reported the abuse after Mr. Huff, who was highly intoxicated, demanded his car keys and punched the driver’s side mirror of Ms. Levier’s vehicle when she refused to give the keys to him. Confirming Ms. Levier’s statements with a witness, Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck arrested Mr. Huff for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
