On 23 Jun 09 Kimberly Molden, age 36, 114
Holiday Drive, Marietta, reported her husband returned home
at 11:30 pm the previous evening in an intoxicated state and
would follow her around their house while verbally abusing
her. Attempting to avoid further confrontation, Mrs. Old tried
to leave the home but she said her husband would grab her arms
and at one point sat on the hood of her car to keep her from
leaving. Mrs. Molden said she did not feel threatened but phoned
for help because her husband would not cooperate and she thought
it best that they separate for the evening. Closing this case
as unfounded, Deputy Sheriff Holbert transported Mr. Molden
to a friend’s residence for the evening.
On 23 Jun 09 an employee of Belpre Sand and
Gravel, 320 Cemetery Road, Little Hocking, reported sometime
overnight an unknown suspect(s), likely from a boat on the
Ohio River, boarded three barges docked at the business and
stole three five gallon gas cans and a set of Craftsman tools.
The total loss due to the thefts is estimated at $290. This
case remains under investigation (608).
On 23 Jun 09 Mechele Nichols, age 46, 2901
Wells Road, Waterford, reported when she logged into her Myspace
account the previous evening she noticed a comment from a family
member against whom she has a protection order. Ms. Nichols
stated the suspect is forbidden from contacting her through
any means, including via the internet, and has been arrested
for previously violating the protection order. This case remains
under investigation (608).
On 23 Jun 09 Michael Lieving, age 48, 5049
Federal Road, Little Hocking, reported a friend visiting his
home began to cause a commotion when he was asked to leave
the residence. Appearing to be highly intoxicated, William
R. Simers, age 49, 1624 Hill Street, Belpre, started yelling
and insisted on staying at the residence. Finally departing
the property in his truck, Mr. Simers spun his tires and accelerated
away. As a result of the incident, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks will
request a summons for Mr. Simers for disorderly conduct by
intoxication.
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Stanley Eugene Bettinger, age 39, 300 Alderman
Street Lot 6, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Bettinger was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Arbaugh
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 23 Jun 09 at 7:42 pm.
Corbett Eugene Pederson, age 35, 1007 Orchard Street Apt.
2, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Pederson
turned himself in to Patrolman Arbaugh at the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 23 Jun 09 at 11:48 pm.
