On 14 Jun 09 David Browne, age 52, 116 Arborgate
Drive, Marietta, reported he awoke that morning to find three
phallic symbols and an insult directed at his daughter scrawled
in his lawn in shaving cream. This case remains under
investigation (805).
On 14 Jun 09 a fifteen year old Lowell resident
reported her stepfather grabbed her by the arms and shook her
after she threw mashed potatoes at him. The victim said her
stepfather belittled and ridiculed her so much at the dinner
table that she threw food at him. The teenager said it appeared
her stepfather was going to throw a dinner plate at her so
she fled the dining room and that is when her stepfather grabbed
her to keep her from leaving with her boyfriend. Determining
the incident did not meet the criteria for domestic violence,
Deputy Sheriff Reeder had the parties arrange to stay at separate
residences for the evening.
On 14 Jun 09 Kay Worstell, age 43, 21 Coal
Run Drive, Lowell, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s)
stole four tires mounted on twenty inch rims that she chained
to a utility pole at 16586 State Route 60. This case remains
under investigation (594).
On 14 Jun 09 an eighteen year old Vincent
resident reported for the past two weeks her ex-boyfriend has
been sending harassing text messages and is also leaving threatening
voicemail messages on her mobile phone. Interviewed by Deputy
Sheriff Travaglio, the suspect denied threatening the victim
and provided a witness who confirmed the victim would call
her ex-boyfriend and yell and curse at him. Confronted with
the fact that she also contacted her ex-boyfriend, the victim
declined to pursue the matter and agreed to cease contacting
her ex-boyfriend. The suspect also agreed to stop contacting
his ex-girlfriend.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Scott Lee Carpenter, age 47, 413 ½ Third Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Carpenter
was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 14 Jun 09 at 12:15 am.
Louis Roe Cavillis, age 38, 405 Elm Street, Belpre, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Cavillis was picked up at the Belpre City Police Department
by Deputy Sheriff Reynolds and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jun 09 at 1:13 am.
Robert William Allen Crowl, age 23, 10 Old Ricks Mill Road
Apt. E3, New Concord, OH, for disorderly conduct by intoxication,
a misdemeanor. Crowl was arrested on Sterling Road in Marietta
by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 09
at 1:40 am.
Ivan Anthony Huck, age 18, 208 Walnut Street, Lowell, for
OVI, underage consumption of alcohol, failure to control and
hit-skip, all misdemeanors. Huck was arrested on State Route
60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 09 at 5:04 am.
Melissa Ann Toby, age 41, 19640 State Route 550, Marietta,
for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Toby was
arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 09 at 11:42 am.
Gerald Anthony Boswell, age 39, 450 Chestnut Street, Clarksburg,
for driving under an OVI suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Boswell was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14
Jun 09 at 1:59 pm.
