On 11 Jun 09 an employee of Americas Stryenics,
17401 State Route 7, Marietta, reported sometime in the past
ten days an IBM laptop was stolen from an office inside the
business. This case remains under investigation (953).
On 11 Jun 09 Charles W. Ball Jr., age 47,
50749 Marietta Road, Cumberland, OH, reported he placed a .45
caliber revolver in his vehicle after he purchased the weapon
from a friend in Macksburg on 19 May 09 and when he returned
to his vehicle several minutes later the gun was missing. This
case remains under investigation (1184).
On 11 Jun 09 a witness reported finding a
Ford F-150 in a creek, over an embankment in the vicinity of
Ash and Waterford roads in Muskingum Township. Deputy Sheriffs
Anderson and McLeish located the truck, which was reported
stolen from a residence in Marietta earlier in the day, stuck
in mud along an ATV path. The Marietta City Police Department
is handling the investigation into the theft of the truck.
On 11 Jun 09 Lt. Wilson arrested Daniel A.
Wickham, age 25, 35700 State Route 260, Graysville, for possession
of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Stopping
Mr. Wickham for improperly displaying his license plate on
State Route 7 at Sandhill Road, Lt. Wilson requested a canine
to conduct an exterior sniff of the vehicle. Following his
canine’s canine indication for the presence of drugs,
Detective Staats searched the vehicle and discovered a cloth
sack containing a glass marijuana pipe and a marijuana bud.

Office received the following warrants:
Demetrius G. Haley, age 24, 2381 Delavan Drive,
Columbus, for driving under a suspended license on 16 May 09.
Brenda L. Miller, age 41, 1001 Colonial Drive Apt. B4, Marietta,
for failing to appear to serve four days in jail on 1 Jun 09.
Jesse D. Patterson, age 22, 104 Brandy Drive, Marietta, for
failing to appear to serve two days in jail on 8 Jun 09.
Ryan E. Smith, age 20, 2206 26th Avenue, Parkersburg, for
possession of marijuana on 19 May 09.
Brian M. Taylor, age 21, 102 Flintwood Drive, Marietta, for
failing to appear for pretrial on 8 Jun 09.
Ashley D. Williams, age 19, PO Box 921, Smiths Station, AL,
for issuing a bad check for $143.63 to Food 4 Less on 19 May
09.
David W. Wriston, age 24, 687 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for
failing to appear to serve ten days in jail on 29 May 09.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Barry Jay Myers, age 38, 827 Quarry Street,
Marietta, for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor. Myers
was arrested at his residence by Detective Rhodes of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11 Jun 09 at 12:15 pm.
Joshua Cleveland Snkfield, age 37, 111 Hart Street Apt. 2,
Marietta, for obstructing official business, failure to appear
and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, all misdemeanors. Sinkfield was picked up at the Southeast
Ohio Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jun 09 at 2:00 pm.
Billy Allen Babcock, age 32, 270 Cornerville Road, Marietta,
for a felony charge of aggravated burglary and for two misdemeanor
counts of theft. Babcock was arrested at Wal-Mart by Patrolman
Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jun 09 at 3:45 pm.
Daniel Arthur Wickham, age 25, 35700 State Route 260, Graysville,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Wickham was arrested on State Route 7 by
Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jun 09
at 5:55 pm.
Walter Rick Ayala, age 21, 1962 Princeton Street, Parkersburg,
for trafficking in drugs and for possession of drugs, both
felonies. Ayala was arrested on Pike Street by Detective Staats
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jun 09 at 11:30 pm.
