On 10 Jun 09 an employee
of Pioneer City Kirby, 1001 Pike Street Suite 8B, Marietta,
reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) pried open
a door to the business and stole a Kirby Sentria vacuum the
business uses for demonstrations. The estimated value of the
vacuum system is $2,000. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 10 Jun 09 Cherie L. Cunningham, age 42,
8510 Richmond Street, Gibsonton, FL, was backing her 2007 Chevy
four door from a parking spot at the Grandview Tavern when
she collided with the passenger side door of a parked Jeep
occupied by Michelle R. Debolt, age 39, 41600 Trail Run Road,
New Matamoras. While Ms. Cunningham’s vehicle went undamaged,
Ms. Debolt’s vehicle sustained minor damage (296).
On 10 Jun 09 Vicky Winstanley, age 56, 3405
County Nine Road, Reno, was traveling eastbound on County Nine
Road near Bowersock Road when a tree uprooted and fell on her
2002 Dodge Durango. Mrs. Winstanley’s vehicle sustained
functional damage; no injuries were reported (1090).
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS
Tangential to the arrests of Michael J. Broadnax and Eric
E. Townsend Monday night, Detective Staats Tuesday morning
arrested John A. Givens, age 28, 100B Linwood Avenue, Marietta
for a third degree felony charge of intimidation of a witness.
The day after the buy-bust conducted by the Major Crimes Task
Force Givens confronted a witness in the case and stated to
the victim “I saw what you did you’re a snitch.” Givens
threatened the witness, saying “people like you need
to be taken care of,” and made several comments about
causing damage to the witness’ home and vehicles. The
witness later confided to Detectives that she is afraid of
what may happen to her and her property. Givens is incarcerated
in the Washington County Jail without bond pending his initial
court appearance this afternoon.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Markus Don Griffin, age 21, 90 Cornerville Road, Marietta,
for OVI and for making an improper turn, both misdemeanors.
Griffin was arrested on Butler Street in Marietta by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 10 Jun 09 at 12:57 am.
Jerry Wayne Donley, age 63, 106 Colonial Square, Belpre, for
trafficking in drugs, a felony. Donley was arrested in Common
Pleas Court by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 10 Jun 09 at 8:39 am.
Jericho Lee Pugh, age 19, 1490 Pugh Road,
Stockport, for operating a vehicle with expired plates, for
operating a vehicle with plates belonging to the former owner,
for obstructing official business and for driving under an
OVI suspended license, all misdemeanors. Pugh turned himself
in at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to Sgt.
Norman and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
10 Jun 09 at 6:26 pm.
Matthew David Wiseman, age 19, 118 Bartlett Street Apt. A,
Marietta, for theft, a felony. Wiseman was picked up in Kentucky
by Patrolman Meek of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jun 09 at 6:40
pm.
