On 3 Jun 09 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck responded
to the scene of death of an eighty-one year old Vincent resident.
The cause of man’s death appears to be natural; no foul
play is suspected.
On 3 Jun 09 Vincent M. Harvey, age 43, 320
Nutter Avenue Lot 77, Belpre, reported sometime between 10
pm on 29 May and 1 am on 3 Jun an unknown suspect(s) stole
a High Point nine millimeter handgun from his nightstand. This
case remains under investigation (608).
On 3 Jun 09 Lt. Gherke and Deputy Sheriff
Holbert responded to a 911 hang up call at the residence of
Patty Winters, age 57, at 186 Main Street Lot 9, Lowell. Arriving
at the scene, Lt. Gherke heard Ms. Winters crying for help
and entered the residence. As he proceeded to the bedroom where
Ms. Winters was located, Lt. Gherke saw Sherry L. Hartenstine,
age 42, 1328 Fredrick Road, Reading, PA, slam the bedroom door.
Lt. Gherke forced his was into the bedroom and handcuffed Ms.
Hartenstine as she continued to yell at Ms. Winters, saying
she was making a big mistake by having her arrested. Detailing
the incident, Ms. Winters said Ms. Hartenstine entered her
home uninvited and demanded property she supposedly had at
the home. Ms. Winters said Ms. Hartenstine became upset, assaulted
her and dragged her down the hallway to her bedroom. Inside
the bedroom, Ms. Winters stated Ms. Hartenstine handcuffed
her to a bedpost and would not allow her to leave the residence.
Based on evidence obtained during the investigation, Deputy
Holbert arrested Ms. Hartenstine for abduction and assault
and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
On 3 Jun 09 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds responded
to the scene of death of a sixty-nine year old New Matamoras
resident. The cause of man’s death appears to be natural;
no foul play is suspected.
On 3 Jun 09 Vivian Gray, age 58, 220 Tabor
Ridge Road, Stockport, reported sometime between 6 pm on 1
Jun and 8 pm on 3 Jun an unknown suspect(s) kicked open a rear
door to her residence. Ms. Gray said the suspect(s) rooted
through drawers and closets and stole a Garfield piggy bank,
a jar of loose change and a bolt action .22 caliber rifle.
The estimated loss of the items is over $400. This case remains
under investigation (1293).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kyle Brandon Fisher, age 22, 826 Selkirk Way,
Pickerington, OH, for driving under a suspended license and
for speeding, both misdemeanors. Fisher was arrested near milepost
fifteen on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jun 09 at 2:33
am.
Michael David Blind, age 30, 1221 Sealy Ridge
Road, Vincent, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Blind was picked up at the
Athens County line by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 3 Jun 09 at 2:00 pm.
Eric Brent Dickinson Sr., age 46, 310 Hague Avenue, Columbus,
for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Dickinson was
picked up at the Franklin County Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jun 09 at
2:10 pm.
Sherry Lynn Hartenstine, age 42, 1328 Fredrick Road, Reading,
PA, for a felony charge of abduction and for a misdemeanor
charge of assault. Hartenstine was arrested at a residence
on Main Street in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jun 09 at 10:25 pm.
