On 31 May 09 the Fearing Volunteer Fire Department
transported a forty-four year old Marietta resident to Marietta
Memorial Hospital for treatment of self-inflicted cuts to his
arms. Sgt. Eddy was informed by hospital personnel that the
wounds were not serious and the victim will be undergoing further
evaluation.
On 31 May 09 Bobby Baker, age 39, 190 Arends
Ridge Road, Marietta, reported the driver of an unknown vehicle
pulled into his driveway and sideswiped the driver’s
side of his 1999 Buick Regal. The crash, occurring sometime
overnight, caused moderate damage to Mr. Baker’s vehicle.
This incident remains under investigation (594).
On 31 May 09 Roger Eddy, age 55, 5277 School
House Road, Little Hocking, reported an unknown suspect(s)
pried the lock off a storage building on his property and stole
a non-functioning weed eater and a plastic barrel containing
garden tools. Mr. Eddy said the objects were of little value
and only wanted the Sheriff’s Office notified of the
theft (608).
On 31 May 09 at 10 pm Mark W. Francis, age
61, 5660 Shay Ridge Road, New Matamoras, reported his neighbor
Daniel G. Hayes, age 37, 5675 Shay Ridge Road, was upset that
he phoned law enforcement at 3 pm and complained about a relative
of Mr. Hayes urinating in plain view of him and his wife. When
Mr. Francis phoned for assistance the second time he said Mr.
Hayes made threatening comments throughout the afternoon and
evening and threatened to kill him on more than one occasion.
Furthermore, Mr. Francis stated he heard Mr. Hayes discharge
a firearm and it caused him to fear for his safety. Visibly
intoxicated, Mr. Hayes continued his threatening behavior while
being interviewed by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and freely foreshadowed
future frays with his foe, Francis. Discovering two shotgun
shell casings with a fresh gunpowder smell, Deputy Holbert
arrested Mr. Hayes for aggravated menacing and using a weapon
while intoxicated and transported him to the Washington County
Jail.
On 31 May 09 Lisa N. Owens, age 28, 2597 Congress
Road, Belpre, reported her estranged husband Eric, age 29,
673 Rocky Point Road, Fleming, appeared at her residence in
an agitated state and was attempting to obtain some of his
belongings. Mrs. Owens aid she refused to argue with her husband,
which exacerbated his anger. Before Mr. Owens departed the
residence, Mrs. Owens stated he threatened to knock her teeth
down her throat and put her in the ICU. Determining Mrs. Owens
feared for her safety, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested a warrant
for Mr. Owens for domestic violence.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Howard Michael Gayheart, age 36, 135 First Street, Vincent,
for OVI, a misdemeanor. Gayheart was arrested in Vincent by
Detective Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 09
at 3:16 am.
Erika Dawn Ghee, age 29, 605 Dana Road, Newport, for a felony
charge of receiving stolen property and for misdemeanor charges
of speeding, failure to reinstate her operator’s license,
not wearing a seat belt and having fictitious plates. Ghee
was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 09
at 7:42 pm.
Jason Allen Lauderman, age 21, 210 Cedar Street, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Lauderman turned himself in to Patrolman Chapman at the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 31 May 09 at 8:41 pm.
Glen Edward Church, age 46, 502 Barclay Street Apt. L, Belpre,
for criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. Church was arrested at
his residence by Patrolman Jobes of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
31 May 09 at 8:59 pm.
Eduardo Juarez-Hilario, age 20, 1420 Matthew Allen Circle,
Kannapolis, NC, for speeding and for operating a vehicle without
a driver’s license, both misdemeanors. Juarez-Hilario
was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 09
at 10:02 pm.
