On 30 May 09 a nineteen year old Marietta
resident reported when she checked her voicemail she listened
to a message from a female acquaintance that was vulgar and
threatening in nature. This case remains under investigation
(805).
On 30 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested
Neal D. Groves, age 42, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 4A, New
Matamoras, for driving under an OVI suspended license. Following
Mr. Groves’ vehicle while traveling on State Route 550,
Deputy Mankins observed a rear passenger side door opening
and a foot coming out of the car and nearly touching the road.
A computer check revealed Mr. Groves’ license is suspended
indefinitely.
On 30 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks transported
a fifty-three year old Marietta resident to Marietta Memorial
Hospital after the victim admittedly attempted suicide. Performing
a welfare check at the residence, Deputy Smeeks found the victim
unconscious, sitting in his running vehicle, inside a closed
garage. The victim regained consciousness when Deputy Smeeks
ventilated the garage and then voluntarily checked himself
into the hospital.
On 30 May 09 Antoinette Gay, age 51, 123 Arrowhead
Road, Little Hocking, reported sometime between 22 and 25 May
an unknown suspect(s) stole two bicycles from her property.
This case remains under investigation (945, 1293).
On 30 May 09 Rebecca D. Kroniser, age 27,
565 Hadley Hollow Road, Marietta, reported her husband William,
age 38, repeatedly phoned her at work until she returned to
their home. Upon Mrs. Kroniser’s arrival an argument
over the couple’s floundering marriage transpired, causing
Mr. Kroniser to become more distraught. Mr. Kroniser retrieved
a .22 caliber rifle and began loading it while making comments
about harming himself. Mrs. Kroniser wrestled the weapon away
from her husband, who then went into the kitchen to get a knife.
Foiling her husband’s attempt to obtain a weapon once
again, Mrs. Kroniser said Mr. Kroniser found the rifle and
repeated
his
comments about harming himself. Later interviewed by Deputy
Travaglio, Mr. Kroniser made several references to harming
himself. For his safety, Mr. Kroniser was arrested for disorderly
conduct and transported to the Washington County Jail where
he will undergo evaluation by a health professional.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Daniel Edward Hendrickson, age 55, 775 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Hendrickson was arrested
on Front Street by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 30 May 09 at 1:15 am.
Donald Andrew O’Brien, age 21, 703 Clement Avenue, Belpre,
for driving under a suspended license, for driving outside
the marked lanes of travel for failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines, all misdemeanors. O’Brien
was arrested near milepost eight on State Route 821 by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 May 09 at 1:30 am.
William Leonard Kroniser, age 38, 565 Hadley Hollow Road,
Marietta, for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor.
Kroniser was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 May 09
at 5:06 pm.

Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 30 May 09 at 8:33 pm.
