On 26 May 09 Jaclyn Caldwell, age 19, 314 Sand Street Apt. 3, Ravenswood, WV, reported being involved in a quarrel with her now former live-in boyfriend, Wesley W. Pratt, age 24, at the residence the previously shared at 466 Cross Road, Belpre. Arguing over infidelity and an end to their relationship, Ms. Caldwell said Mr. Pratt grabbed the back of her neck and would not allow her to leave the residence. Before she escaped and was able to enter her vehicle, Ms. Caldwell stated Mr. Pratt struck her windshield with a piece of wood and shattered it, rendering the vehicle nearly un-drivable. Finally entering her vehicle to flee, Ms. Caldwell said Mr. Pratt broke the passenger side window, causing shattered glass fragments to lacerate her right elbow and both legs. Interviewed at his residence, Mr. Pratt refused to provide a statement. As a result of the investigation conducted by Lt. Gherke and Deputy Sheriff Smeeks, Mr. Pratt was arrested for domestic violence and criminal damaging and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 26 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck responded to an altercation in Cutler that involved four teenage females. A sixteen year old victim said two other students of Warren High School confronted her for allegedly seeing one of the assailants’ boyfriends. During the argument the victim stated the two girls “jumped her” and struck her several times in the face. When a friend of the victim attempted to intervene one of the suspects struck her as well. Receiving conflicting statements from the involved parties, Deputy Hornbeck will conduct further interviews before determining a course of action.
