On 26 May 09 Jaclyn Caldwell, age 19, 314
Sand Street Apt. 3, Ravenswood, WV, reported being involved
in a quarrel with her now former live-in boyfriend, Wesley
W. Pratt, age 24, at the residence the previously shared at
466 Cross Road, Belpre. Arguing over infidelity and an end
to their relationship, Ms. Caldwell said Mr. Pratt grabbed
the back of her neck and would not allow her to leave the residence.
Before she escaped and was able to enter her vehicle, Ms. Caldwell
stated Mr. Pratt struck her windshield with a piece of wood
and shattered it, rendering the vehicle nearly un-drivable.
Finally entering her vehicle to flee, Ms. Caldwell said Mr.
Pratt broke the passenger side window, causing shattered glass
fragments to lacerate her right elbow and both legs. Interviewed
at his residence, Mr. Pratt refused to provide a statement.
As a result of the investigation conducted by Lt. Gherke and
Deputy Sheriff Smeeks, Mr. Pratt was arrested for domestic
violence and criminal damaging and transported to the Washington
County Jail.
On 26 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Hornbeck responded
to an altercation in Cutler that involved four teenage females.
A sixteen year old victim said two other students of Warren
High School confronted her for allegedly seeing one of the
assailants’ boyfriends. During the argument the victim
stated the two girls “jumped her” and struck her
several times in the face. When a friend of the victim attempted
to intervene one of the suspects struck her as well. Receiving
conflicting statements from the involved parties, Deputy Hornbeck
will conduct further interviews before determining a course
of action.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Mickey Allen Hairston Jr., age 22, 4449 Belcher Court, Columbus,
for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Hairston was
arrested near milepost five on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 26 May 09 at 12:10 am.
Joseph Allen Sams, age 26, 2401 45th Street, Parkersburg,
for driving under a suspended license, possession of drugs
and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Sams
was arrested near milepost five on Interstate 77 by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 May 09 at 12:10 am.
Matthew Melvin Myers, age 28, 380 E. Second
Street, Pomeroy, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Myers
was picked up at the Noble Correctional Institution by Deputy
Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 26 May 09 at 9:45 am.
Shawn Matthew Stobart, age 41, 46844 State Route 124, Racine,
OH, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Stobart was picked
up at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 May 09
at 11:47 am.
Wesley Wayne Pratt, age 24, 466 Cross Road, Belpre, for domestic
violence and criminal damaging, both misdemeanors. Pratt was
arrested at his residence by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 May 09 at 1:22 pm.
Christopher Alan Starkey, age 20, 1010 Fifth Street, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Starkey was arrested
on Third Street by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
26 May 09 at 8:02 pm.
