On 25 May 09 Jamie Ford, age 26, 110 Deer
Haven Street, Marietta, reported she along with her husband
Curtis, age 27, traveled to her ex-husband’s home to
retrieve items left by her son during visitation with his father.
Things were going smoothly, Mrs. Ford said, until her ex-husband,
Shaun McFarland, age 30, 30445 State Route 7, Marietta, erupted
with anger. Reeking of alcohol, Mr. McFarland threatened to
kill Mrs. Ford and to beat up Mr. Ford. As McFarland pulled
his fist back to strike her, Mrs. Ford said she sought refuge
in her vehicle. At that point, McFarland jumped on the hood,
punched and broke the windshield, bent the antenna and punched
two dents in the vehicle’s fender. As a result of the
incident, Deputy Sheriff Travaglio requested warrants for Mr.
McFarland for domestic violence, menacing and criminal damaging.
On 25 May 09 Jeffrey E. Jones, age 45, 27400
State Route 7 Lot 52, Marietta, reported an unknown female
entered a vehicle owned by his neighbor and sped away. Mr.
Jones said the driver nearly struck another neighbor, drove
through his grass and a flower bed, damaged and aerator cover
and spun gravel out of his driveway. Located in Marietta, the
vehicle was returned to its owner after Lt. Gherke determined
there was possibly a verbal agreement regarding the purchase
of the 1989 Chevy Beretta. Deputy Sheriff Holbert’s investigation
into the criminal damaging aspect of this case is ongoing.
On 25 May 09 Ginny L. Kinney, age 50, 2315
Blue Knob Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 20 Apr
and 8 May an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole
a digital camera, a pair of gold and diamond earrings, a men’s
gold wedding band and a gold ring with diamonds. This case
remains under investigation (1293).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Raymond Williams, age 50, 1266 Sherman Street, Akron, for
failing to reinstate his operator’s license, a misdemeanor.
Williams was arrested near milepost ten on Interstate 77 by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 25 May 09 at 5:39 am.
Charles Leroy Holliday, age 49, 510A Ravenna Road, Newton
Falls, OH, for OVI, possession of drugs, possession of drug
paraphernalia and speeding, all misdemeanors. Holliday was
arrested near milepost five on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 25 May 09 at 11:05 pm.
