On 18 May 09 William Huck, age 49, 305 Masonic
Park Road, Marietta, suffered second degree burns to his right
hand and palm when hot tar splashed onto his hands. Mr. Huck
was part of a crew repairing cracks on BF Goodrich Road when
a block of tar slipped from his hand and fell into a hot tar
kettle. A coworker transported Mr. Huck to Marietta Memorial
Hospital for treatment (296).
On 18 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued
minor misdemeanor citations to Bobbie Byrd, age 53, and Chris
Byrd, age 21, both of 9626 State Route 555, Cutler, for disorderly
conduct by fighting. Engaging in an argument earlier in the
evening that evolved into a shoving match, Mrs. Byrd and her
stepson Chris were uncooperative during Deputy Lockhart’s
investigation. Neither party commented that they feared for
their safety during the incident.
On 18 May 09 Shirley G. Hall, age 67, 554
Whealdon Road, Cutler, reported while she was away from her
residence for an hour that afternoon an unknown suspect(s)
broke a window to gain entry into her home. Though other valuables,
medication and guns were visible to the suspect(s), Ms. Hall
said the suspect(s) only stole inexpensive jewelry purchased
through Avon as well as a necklace and pair of earrings valued
at a total of $175. This case remains under investigation (592,
610).
On 18 May 09 David G. Carpenter, age 47, 3560
Federal Road, Little Hocking, reported sometime between 9 am
and 5 pm an unknown suspect(s) forced open the front door of
his residence and stole a Nintendo Wii. This case remains under
investigation (707).
On 18 May 09 Britney Perrera, age 23, 1046
Hocking Road, Little Hocking, reported her live-in boyfriend
Jay D. Camp, age 34, now residing at 1059 Wildman Road, Coolville,
head butted her in the nose during an argument the previous
afternoon. Ms. Perrera said the dispute as over her leaving
to shop at Wal-Mart with a friend and that she was scared to
report the incident at the time because she feared Mr. Camp
and his family would retaliate against her family. As a result
of his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Thorpe requested a warrant
for Mr. Camp for domestic violence.
On 18 May 09 Cindy Vogelsong, age 42, 8570
Federal Road, Cutler, reported while she was away from her
residence for two hours that afternoon an unknown suspect(s)
forcibly entered her home through the front door. Rifling through
drawers and overturning furniture, the suspect(s) stole a Toshiba
laptop computer worth $900 and a gold bracelet valued at $200.
This case remains under investigation (592).
The following individual
was processed into the Washington County Jail:
Larry Eugene Emerick, age 53, 110 Grandview
Avenue, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a
misdemeanor. Emerick was arrested on Second Street in Marietta
by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 May
09 at 7:30 pm.
