On 15 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Heather L. Haney, age 33, 809 1/2 Front Street, Marietta, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Haney on State Route 7 near Bender Road in Warren Township.

On 15 May 09 the owner of Cutler Station, 9731 State Route 555, Cutler, reported he arrived to open the store at 5:45 am and found the glass of the front door shattered. Though the glass was the safety type and remained somewhat intact, the perpetrator dislodged the window from its frame, reached through the gap and unlocked the door. Once inside, the owner said the suspect(s) stole eighty cans of snuff and did not bother any other items in the store. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 15 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Joshua R. Stacy, age 20, 2409 Rockland Avenue, Belpre, for operating a vehicle with an expired temporary license plate. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Stacy on State Route 7 near Blue Knob Road in Warren Township.

On 15 May 09 George C. Loeber, age 70, 4350 State Route 26, Marietta, reported sometime between 10 May and 13 May an unknown suspect stole five of his ailing wife’s Duragesic Fentanyl patches. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 15 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Michael S. Hinton, age 27, 525 1/2 Eighth Street, Marietta, for traveling 78 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Hinton on State Route 7 near Veto Road in Warren Township.

On 15 May 09 a twelve year old Little Hocking resident reported he was visiting a friend’s residence when a fifteen year old Little Hocking resident assaulted him. The victim alleges the suspect stated that he was going to beat him up on the fifteenth of every month for a comment he made about the assailant’s friend. The victim said the suspect gave him a black eye earlier in the day and on this occasion the suspect kneed him in the stomach, punched him in the face and threw him to the ground. This case remains under investigation (608).

On 15 May 09 Detective Rhodes issued a citation to Shane D. Thomas, age 22, 416 Mulberry Street, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license. Detective Rhodes stopped Mr. Thomas at the intersection of Market and Harmar streets in Pioneer Township.

On 15 May 09 Lt. Canavan issued a citation to Jeanine M. Adams, age 39, 4201-102 Edith Lane, Greensboro, NC, for traveling 65 mph in a 50 mph zone. Lt. Canavan stopped Ms. Adams on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

On 15 May 09 Lt. Canavan issued a citation to Heather D. Rex, age 24, 20340 State Route 60, Beverly, for traveling 56 mph in a 45 mph zone. Lt. Canavan stopped Ms. Rex on State Route 339 near Anderson Road in Waterford Township.

The following individual was processed into the Washington County Jail:

Glenn Roger Johnson, age 22, 116 Harmar Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested on Market Street in Marietta by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 09 at 4:45 pm.
