On 10 May 09 Sgt. Johnson and Deputy Sheriff
Carr investigated a domestic altercation involving multiple
parties at 1684 Twin Bridge Road, Little Hocking. The Deputies
determined that Thomas C. Nelson, age 41, was intoxicated and
upset that his wife and two daughters were gone all day. When
the women arrived home, Mr. Nelson’s daughter Crystal,
age 19, let her dog run into the home, at which point the animal
jumped on top of a pizza box sitting next to Mr. Nelson on
a couch. More agitated, Mr. Nelson kicked his daughter in the
hip and caused her to fall onto a couch where her mother Lisa,
age 39, was seated. After Crystal pushed and started yelling
at her father, he began slapping her and in the face. Mrs.
Nelson attempted to intervene and Mr. Nelson retaliated by
pulling her hair. Mr. Nelson admitted kicking his daughter
in the behind but then claimed the melee began when he was
attacked by his wife and daughter. Determining Mr. Nelson was
the primary aggressor in the incident, Deputy Carr arrested
Mr. Nelson for two counts of domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
