On 9 May 09 Jessica A. Malone, age 27, 1118
Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, reported she attended a Mother’s
Day cookout at her father’s home at 3049 Turkeyhen Road,
Fleming, when her aunt, Regina M. Dawson, age 39, 12895 State
Route 676, Waterford, began nagging her about a ring she claimed
was hers. Ms. Malone said she departed the cookout with her
two children and returned shortly thereafter when she believed
Ms. Dawson also departed. Before she was able to exit her vehicle,
Ms. Malone said Ms. Dawson reappeared, began hitting her window
and ordered out of the vehicle to “fight like a woman.” When
she refused to fight, Ms. Malone said Ms. Dawson punched her
fist through the closed window and struck her in the left cheek.
In order to avoid injury to her children, Ms. Malone exited
her vehicle and briefly tussled with Ms. Dawson before relatives
separated the two. After Ms. Dawson received treatment for
cuts to her arm Deputy Mankins arrested her for domestic violence
and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
On 9 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested
Rozalyn M. Bilek, age 21, 830 Middlebury Road, Kent, OH, for
possession of drug paraphernalia and John W. Genutis, age 22,
732 Wellmon Street, Bedford, OH, for possession of drugs and
possession of drug paraphernalia. Stopping the vehicle in which
Ms. Bilek was the driver for a traffic violation on State Route
7 in Belpre, Deputy Mankins noticed an odor of marijuana. A
search of the vehicle, which belonged to Mr. Genutis, yielded
rolling papers from the glove compartment and a small quantity
of marijuana from under the seat where Mr. Genutis sat. Questioned
further, Mr. Genutis admitted the contraband belonged to him.
Also found in the vehicle was a purse containing a glass marijuana
pipe that Ms. Bilek admitted were hers.
On 9 May 09 the Devola Fire Department transported
a nine year old Waterford resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital
for a leg injury suffered while riding a dirt bike at 15577
Muskingum River Road, Waterford. The juvenile reportedly struck
a tree and broke his right femur (790).
On 9 Mar 09 Samantha Rohr, age 22, 9550 State
Route 550, Vincent, reported upon examining her checkbook she
determined twenty-one checks were missing. Ms. Rohr believes
the theft occurred between 4 am and 2 pm on 7 May 09. This
case remains under investigation (1020).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Gary Lee Mayle Jr., age 31, 201 State Street, Marietta, for
OVI, driving under a suspended license and for driving outside
the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Mayle was arrested
on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 May 09 at 4:32 am.
Troy Eugene Lightfritz, age 22, 228 Spring Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Lightfritz was arrested
on Colegate Drive in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 May 09 at 6:15 am.
Rozalyn Margaret Bilek, age 21, 830 Middlebury Road, Kent,
OH, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Bilek
was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 May 09 at 11:30
am.
John Walter Genutis, age 22, 732 Wellmon Street, Bedford,
OH, for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Genutis was arrested on State Route 7 by
Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 May 09 at 11:30 am.
Regina Marie Dawson, age 39, 12895 State Route 676, Waterford,
for domestic violence and for criminal damaging, both misdemeanors.
Dawson was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Deputy
Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 9 May 09 at 7:09 pm.
