On 6 May 09 Aaron Heiss, age 26, 20545 State
Route 676, Marietta, reported while he was at work between
5:20 am and 7 pm an unknown suspect(s) entered his home, ransacked
it and stole two pairs of Air Jordan shoes, three sweaters,
three pairs of shorts, and a jar he estimates contained $500
in change. This case remains under investigation (608).
On 6 May 09 a thirty-nine year old Waterford
resident reported being involved in a heated argument with
her fourteen year old stepdaughter. The stepmother said she
forced the teenager to sit in chair because she was out of
control, screaming and acting crazy. During the incident the
stepmother said she reflexively slapped the teenager when the
juvenile spat on her. This case remains under investigation
(500).
On 6 May 09 Angela M. Hardin, age 26, 314
Morgan Avenue, Saint Marys, reported she inadvertently left
her wallet in the checkout counter of Newport IGA on 30 Apr
09 and five minutes later when she went to retrieve it the
wallet was missing. Ms. Hardin said her husband returned to
the store twice since the incident but store employees stated
the wallet was not turned in to their lost and found. This
case remains under investigation (945).
STUDENT ARRESTED FOR POSSESSING HANDGUN ON
SCHOOL GROUNDS
This afternoon Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested John C. Kuhn,
III, age 18, 2506 Parkview Drive, Belpre, for a fifth degree
felony charge of illegally possessing a deadly weapon in a
school safety zone. Receiving information that Kuhn had a weapon
in his vehicle, officials at the Washington County Career Center,
21740 State Route 676, Marietta, searched Kuhn’s vehicle
and secured the weapon. Upon his arrival, Deputy Smeeks seized
the Ruger .22 caliber, which was not loaded, and later placed
the weapon in evidence. Kuhn is being held in the Washington
Count y Jail without bond pending his initial appearance in
Municipal Court on 7 May 09 at 1 pm.
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John Carl Kuhn III, age 18, 2506 Parkview
Drive, Belpre, for illegal possession of a weapon in a school
safety zone, a felony. Kuhn was arrested at the Washington
County Career Center by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 09 at 2:20 pm.
Brandon Lamarr Jennings, age 24, 2122 Fenton Street, Columbus,
for possession of drugs, tampering with evidence and for four
counts of trafficking in drugs, all felonies. Jennings was
picked up at the Franklin County Jail by Deputy Sheriff Underwood
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 09 at
3:00 pm.
Mario Ramal Johnson, age 30, 14271 Lauder Street, Detroit,
MI, for trafficking in drugs and for tampering with evidence,
both felonies. Johnson was picked up in Washtenaw County, Michigan
by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 6 May 09 at 3:00 pm.
Beldon Todd Bailey Jr., age 31, 1201 Wyatt Lane, Belpre, for
a felony charge of being a fugitive from justice and for misdemeanor
charges of failure to appear and failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Bailey was arrested on Washington
Boulevard in Belpre by Patrolman Augenstein of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 May 09 at 4:30 pm.
