On 2 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Michael W. Brookover, age 45, 15281 State Route 60, Lowell,
for driving under a suspended license and for possession of
drug paraphernalia. Stopping Mr. Brookover on State Route 7
near Federal Road for having expired license plates, Deputy
Smeeks conducted an exterior canine sniff of the vehicle. The
search that followed resulted in the seizure of a marijuana
pipe from under the driver’s seat. Mr. Brookover also
produced a plastic bag from his pocket that contained marijuana
residue.
On 2 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested
a summons for a fifteen year old Little Hocking resident to
appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by domestic
violence. The teenager’s mother said her son was play
fighting with his ten year old brother when the younger boy
suddenly ran to her, crying. The boy said his brother became
angry, struck him in the chest and punched him in the face
hard enough to break his glasses. The teenager’s mother
said her son continuously fights with other family members,
has become progressively unruly and disobeys house rules.
On 2 May 09 Deputy Sheriff Reeder issued a
citation to a seventeen year old Belpre resident for not stopping
at a stop sign. Deputy Reeder stopped the teenager after he
failed to stop when turning from River Road onto State Route
60 in Muskingum Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Warren Brookover, age 45, 15281 State Route 60, Lowell,
for driving under a suspended license and for possession of
drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Brookover was arrested
on State Route 7 north by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 2 May 09 at 9:08 am.
Steven Scott Cline, age 40, 6879 State Route 550, Cutler,
for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Cline turned himself
in to Deputy Sheriff Malone and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 2 May 09 at 7:57 pm.
