On 21 Apr 09 S. D. Scott, age 41, 784 Long Eddy
Road, New Matamoras, reported she placed a gold ring, a bracelet,
a GPS unit and miscellaneous other items in a grocery bag when
she cleaned her vehicle on 19 Apr. Unable to locate the grocery
bag or items contained therein, Ms. Scott believes they were
stolen from her vehicle sometime during the past two days.
This case remains under investigation (296).
ALCOHOL COMPLIANCE CHECKS
CONDUCTED
Along with the Ohio Department of Public
Safety Investigative Unit, the Sheriff’s Office recently
conducted compliance checks on local businesses possessing
liquor licenses. Of the seven businesses tested only employees
of two of the businesses sold alcohol to an underage female
informant. The following businesses and their employees should
be commended for their enforcement of Ohio law and unwillingness
to sell alcohol to an underage person:

The Division of Liquor Control’s Investigative
Unit charged employees of the remaining two businesses, Hickory
Grove, 5525 State Route 339, Vincent and the Fox Den, 40
McGrath Road, Macksburg, for selling alcohol to an underage
person, a violation of Section 4301.69A of the Ohio Revised
Code. The employees charged are Lucinda Curfman, age 20,
985 Burnett Road, Cutler, an employee at Hickory Grove and
Linda Hesson, age 30, 40 McGrath Road, Macksburg, an employee
at the Fox Den. Agents of the Investigative Unit also cited
the Fox Den for several permit and health code violations.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Monica D. Westfall, age 29, 300 Woodland Acres
Road, for failing to appear for a debtor hearing on 4 Mar 09.
Patricia A. Bonar, age 32, 735 Silver Globe Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of her probation and for failure to
appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum
of $591.50.
Richard A. Carter, age 20, 5353 Rifle Drive, Canal Winchester,
OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $761.60.
Donald J. Haning, age 31, 33718 County Road 265 Apt. 9, Reedsville,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $208.00.
Richard D. Harper, age 63, 112 Davis Street, Uhrichsville,
for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for arraignment
on 10 Apr 09.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Gary Lee McFadden II, age 38, 206 Fifth Street, Marietta,
for a felony charge of assault and for misdemeanor charges
of domestic violence, resisting arrest and obstructing official
business. McFadden was arrested at his residence by Patrolman
Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 09 at 4:31 am.
Maurice Anttone Howell, age 30, 1091 McNaughten Road, Columbus,
for driving under an FRA suspended license and for speeding,
both misdemeanors. Howell was arrested on Interstate 77 by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Apr 09 at 8:08 am.
Anna Brook Kline, age 27, 181 Canal Street,
Nelsonville, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Kline was picked up at the
Athens County line by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 09 at 5:30 pm.
